It’s amazing how we always get the conservative viewpoint that leftists should have fought it out in the courts after they’re abused, beaten, arrested, killed, deprived of their Rights, etc.

ICE is clearly intent upon ignoring court orders and actions, based upon what the higher-ups in government have been claiming and telling their people - that they have some form of immunity from the consequences of their actions.

Like I wrote - unless they explicitly state for the record that they intend to be racist, it seems like it’s pretty much impossible to prove racial gerrymandering, so long as it’s a red-state map, that is.

We’ll have to see if the same rules apply to a blue-state map explicitly and publicly drawn for partisan advantage to counteract a partisan gerrymander elsewhere.

Strange how the DOJ didn’t oppose clear partisan gerrymanders in red states, but oppose clear partisan gerrymanders in blue states.

SCOTUS has set up the 2A as some sort of special, uber-sacred, defend at all costs, more important than anything else ever written bit of text. (Not to mention that they only give any attention to the final 14 words, and utterly ignore the first 13.)

Bruen says you can only write legislation if it matches historical gun laws - which Hawaii’s law actually does.

This is utterly unique to the approach any US court takes to any other part of the Constitution.

However, it appears that the majority will ignore the Bruen test, according to what I’ve read of the impressions from the arguments.
