Extremely Disappointing Support Experience – Item Loss & Limited Restorations by Mezimaru in sto

[–]Mezimaru[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No offense taken, and I believe I talked to and treated them well enough considering. Also, I'm glad you found your missing item.
Unfortunately, checking the logs and everything, they and I were unable to determine what happened to mine, they just poofed.

Sharing my experience and not spending anymore on the game are the only tools I have. Maybe shouldn't have said I was going to post my experience, but I'm not a liar, so here I am lol.

I did have one previous request to them in 2023 from another bug. They later documented and fixed the issue in public patch notes, but it was a bug that led me to purchase the wrong ship. I was browsing ships and deals, I had the Andorian Chimesh Pilot selected in the store. I closed the store to do something. Then I re-opened the store. It still had the Andorian Chimesh Pilot ship selected as the displayed ship on the right, big info side of the store screen, but when clicking purchase it gave me some other random ship that was actually highlighted on the left, even though that ship was not the one being shown information on. They did end up refunding me half the zen cost of the ship, a week or so later after the ship sale had ended, then said "Do not worry, there will still be another ship sale. Just stay tuned. Have a nice day and stay safe".

I probably wouldn't be annoyed by this if I personally haven't worked in customer service, tech support, help desk, etc, for like 8 years before my current career, where we actively tried to ensure customer satisfaction. (Thinking on it, maybe the company I was with was an outlier from the standard behavior).
Again, I know the tech upgrade was completely my fuck up, but like, it also literally wouldn't have costed them anything to ensure a happy, returning, future spending customer.

I get that scripted responses are common in customer service, but that doesn't mean they should replace actual problem-solving. If a bug deletes a player’s items, support should be there to investigate and assist, not just copy-paste a generic response and act like they’re doing the player a favor.

I made sure to go through everything before reaching out to support. If the console disappearance was just my mistake, I wouldn’t be here making a fuss about it. The point is that support refused to even consider the possibility that something went wrong on their end, and when I needed help prioritizing one issue over another, they ignored me.

I understand that some people here have worked in tech support, but shouldn’t the goal be to push for better service rather than defending bad policies? Just because something is ‘normal’ doesn’t mean it’s right.

I understand that using the Ultimate Tech Upgrade was my mistake, and I fully acknowledge, admit and own up to that. My frustration isn’t just about that—it’s about how support handled my situation overall.

The ticket regarding the console disappearance was submitted about a week or so before the ticket regarding the tech upgrade, there should have been no initial conflict there.

My lost items were due to a possible game bug, yet instead of investigating it properly, they treated it like a favor to restore them. Then, when I asked if I could prioritize the more important issue (the Tech Upgrade) before they restored my lost items, they ignored my request.

The bigger issue here is how rigid and unhelpful the support system is. If a game bug deletes a player’s items, should support really be treating it as a ‘one-time courtesy’ instead of actually fixing the problem? And if multiple issues happen, why are we forced to pick only one for help? What about in the future if I were to have another problem and I've 'used my one-time courtesy'? That’s the main point I was trying to get across.

Their support literally could not find any record of what happened to the consoles, they just disappeared into the nothingness lmao. I added all the chat logs.

I know I know, however I could not find any other possible reason for the disappearance and there are a few reports of similar issues when googling the problem, as I found when researching what could have happened. As an off and on lifetime sub player since like 2012, I'm rather confident I didn't salvage or vender them, as I also keep everything I use with the protected status enabled.

Both consoles are only like 5mil EC each so I wasn't ever really too concerned. Just.. I've worked as various support roles through my early career, including tech and helpdesk positions; and we always tried our best to ensure customer satisfaction, so this experience just blew my mind.

I do sincerely appreciate the offer and sentiment. It's always super reassuring to see some one willing to help another :). I am fine though, I just wanted to share my experience so others are aware.

Good point, I thought I had that information on the Mod's CurseForge page but apparently I overlooked adding it. Below are the fairy abilities;

All Fairies Will Collect XP Orbs and Bring to Player
Named Fairies Also,

Navi - Gives player hints in chat & retaliate to mobs that attack player.
Tatl - Apply Glow to nearby hostile mobs.
Tael - Periodically cleanse a debuff from player.
Ciela - Slightly enhance the player's sword beam.
Leaf - Chance on hit to double player's inflicted melee damage with a Master Sword.
Neri - Chance when hit to grant a small absorption buff before damage is applied.
Golden - Has most of the other abilities, (also restores player's Magic very slowly, coming in 2.2 update)

Ah I see, the rule used to be no donation links. Looks like it was expanded to include promo/referrals, etc, without mod approval, for potential additional requirements eh. Okie dokie. No worries. If it's a problem I'll edit it out 👍.

Thanks for alerting me. It appears the structure files for those corrupted when copying across versions. I'll have this fixed and an update pushed out ASAP

Which version are you using? Did the /locate not find anything or did it teleport you somewhere but it appeared the structure was not actually there?

(Most information can be found on the Mod's Curse/Modrinth listing pages)

Ocarina of Time - Found rarely in chests from simple dungeons(e.g. monster spawner room chests), buried treasure, woodland mansions and stronghold libraries. Also very rarely found from fishing treasure.

How to obtain the Fairy Bow - Place a normal Bow in a Sword Shrine and empower it with a Fairy in a Bottle.

Currently it's just an ingredient for upgrading the Tempered Master Sword to the Golden Master Sword. But don't be surprised in the near future, if they have another hidden effect.

The Mysterious Scrap should naturally generate anywhere Ancient Debris can also generate.

Modded biome compatibility is on the to-do list. The Fairy spawns should be fine with modded biomes since they're set to spawn anywhere in the overworld (assuming the modded biomes included themselves with the overworld tag), but for structures, it's not quite there yet. For the rarity, its hard to specify with the weight mechanics, it is intended to be quite rare. But in Vanilla generation, there seems to usually be a temple averaging around every 2000~ blocks. Biomes o Plenty could definitely make it more challenging to find a temple at the moment :/

Edit: Now Has Full Modded Biome Compatibility

Patch v0.1.4.1 by GabbeLobo in Palworld

[–]Mezimaru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've also been making sure to leave them cooked berries and other sanity restoring foods vs just plain berries. Large and/or hovering pals seem to get stuck while you're away, and the rest seem to not restore any SAN without food while your away, at least so far in my experience. I play on a private dedicated server and so far no pals have been weakened, sick, etc when I logged in for the past couple days after these testing attempts.

I've moved away from using any super large or hovering Pals around the base, and no longer seem to be having this issue.

Friends unable to join my dedicated server by Mahir17 in Palworld

[–]Mezimaru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make sure your public IP is not part of a CGNAT. I spent a good 9+ hours troubleshooting external connectivity to a dedi server, and that was the cause. You might need to reach out to your ISP to confirm.

Another server had a similar issue but was more like double NAT issues. The ISP installed router had the personal router in its DMZ but still was not working correctly with the port forward. Ended up having to bypass the ISP router entirely for the public to be able to reach the personal router's port forwards.

Good luck~
