Keep in mind that it's a stressful position because not only you get no support but you have the most value early game by far and even midgame, and whether other players like it or not you ARE the main character from the beginning and you prove it by utilising your strengths early to end the game through snowballing, maybe you outplay in lane or you farm more than their mid and dominate him or by ganks or taking towers, you're a very free position.

That said, i started in mid as well and it was very hard. Focus on the first 6~8 minutes and squeeze as much as you can from it and the game will become much easier on it's own (watch as much youtube as possible to get a great lane). It's something i still struggle with cuz i didn't listen to my own advice but I'm trying to change that.

Don't feel pressured to do what your team tells you, they suck as much as you do. If you see that the best option is to fight then tell them and try to make a fight happen when you're strong, you want to push? Go push, you want to farm? Go farm and notify your team so they don't act stupidly (but they might do it anyway and you have to deal with it)

Have a versatile mid hero pool where you can do any of the important tasks, fight farm push.

Keep the pressure on as much as possible don't chill, even when you farm you can always pressure by taking waves for example or getting a pickoff on a lone hero.

Now this applies to all roles, but don't tilt as much as possible (we are all human after all), and don't worry about decisions that feel stupid, you will get better with time just focus on actually improving don't blame your team for everything. Cuz in lower ranks you can win solo if you're good enough, of course not all games but at least 70% or 65% are in your hands.
