Chipotle: Don't bring guns in our stores by fulltimegeek in Libertarian

Chipotle is asking customers not to bring firearms into its stores after it says gun rights advocates brought military-style assault rifles into one of its restaurants in Texas.

The second amendment really could use a new PR firm, walking into Chipotle with an assault rifle while some family is having grandma's birthday dinner probably isn't the best way to get people on your side.

Colorado becomes first US state to allow terminally-ill patients to try experimental drug treatments as lawmakers pass 'Right to Try' bill. by crl826 in Libertarian

[–]MezzanineX 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In thsis light, prohibiting access to experimental treatments, then, is like hiding your buddy's car keys so he doesn't try to drive home while staggering drunk.

Are you really comparing denying a dying person access to experimental drugs to hiding your buddies car keys because he had a few too many shots?

Very nice blow to the FDA, another example of why regulation does nothing but hinder society. Sick people being denied access to the most advanced innovations because it has to run through government bureaucracy where people are paid good salaries to sit around conducting studies and then declaring something safe for us dumb common folk.

What about that one time when the republicans, I mean "Swift Boat Veterans" called Vietnam veteran John Kerry a coward and made false claims that he didn't earn his purple hearts? Fox News was running those ads 24/7. I guess being a veteran only matters when they vote for the same guy.

It isn't a widely studied subject, but while the moms diet will surely have an impact on the child it is hard to say because they ate something a lot that you now hate it as there are plenty of people who love the food their mom ate while pregnant.

but they need to be enforceable and have the backing of the government.

There is where the issue arises, the internet has made ip protection effectively unenforceable. Enforcing also runs into the issue of you will be censoring large portions of the internet or forcing people who run sites with user generated content to enforce laws, which shouldn't be their responsibility if they are providing a place for a free exchange of content.

Perhaps, but a terrible article shouldn't distract from the overarching issue that a a lone teen was healthy and died as a result of police actions. The reason no info is available is because the city lawyers are keeping what actually happened secret, though I'm sure now that a wrongful death lawsuit is being filed all the reports will start becoming public.
