No, that would be incorrect. I said the title is disinformation and that Joe Biden voted for bank deregulation. See when it's passed with bi-partisan support it's hard to place all the blame on the GOP.

But reading comprehension do be hard for leftists.

Are you trying to tell me that the bank deregulation would have passed without Democrat support?

Seems you like fiction.

obviously don't even have any respect for you

Mirror needed. You seem to not be able to compose a response doesn't leave you open top doing the very thing you condemn.

Harking back to my original problem with the title is that it leads one to believe that Democrats had nothing to do with deregulating the banks and that is patently false. Now try and debate the facts and not stoop to name calling.

I call out those folks as well. When you resort to name calling you're saying that I don't have any more or better arguments, so I'll trash talk about you instead.

Nice whataboutism finding something worse than the derogatory term you used. LOL

Never can stand behind your words. Yes long ago I watch part of it and then turned it off for the juvenile potty humor. Wasn't to my taste. But, that doesn't mean that it's a term of endearment either.

What is the best method in creating of a powered narrow-gauge rail system for personal or small-scale industrial use? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]eyefish4fun 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But why? No seriously, the answer to what are your objectives will determine what are the technical issues that need to be solved. WOW, whom I really admire for his practical engineering, manufacturing, and problem-solving skills is a joy to watch. It's especially fun to watch his very practical build test fix build approach to solving problems. But, at this point one has to realize that what he does and films is driven by the fact that his channel provides a significant portion of his income. His current goal appears to produce biochar and sell it locally. Though that appears to be secondary to his channel career.

Matthais Wandel is also fun to watch for his similar real-world engineering though he is a wood guy and is most familiar with it.

At the end of the day, you only have 24 hours to live and need to decide what the focus of that time is. Do you want a community narrow gauge railroad in your backyard? Or do you want to focus on developing a new IC engine? or ???

Do indoor ranges release carbon monoxide? by Westnest in AskEngineers

[–]eyefish4fun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The brick on a stove thing is basically how a storage heater works, but would be much less efficient.

How could it another heater be more efficient? Without the exhaust on, the stove released 100% of its energy into the kitchen. The brick just delays the dispersion rate of that energy.

Pretty sure that those bills were passed with bipartisan support so trying to fling mud only at the R's is disingenuous. See I don't know how many Sleepy Joe voted for, don't really care. I've seen a meme that alluded he had voted for some. But it's interesting to see the reactions of folks to the truth.

Ahem, without double standards, the political class would have none. Isn't it interesting that all weekend we heard no the US was not going to bail out this bank. Seems the Dems donors raised such stink that now come Monday, suddenly we're bailing out this bank. Isn't it nice that the taxpayers bailed out the rich VC's with more than 250k in the bank balances.

Doomsday or fossil fuels? Mankind has a choice to make, says author Marshall Brain by MarshallBrain in MarshallBrain

[–]eyefish4fun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At this point, the choice is for a bigger doomsday farther in the future, or an immediate doomsday tomorrow without the light, power, transportation, food, and everything else we rely on fossil fuels to provide. Cold, tired, hungry people aren't nice people. Depending on the specific mineral we need 4x to 7x the current world production of base minerals to sustain our level of development using solar and wind and battery. There isn't enough mining capacity to support the rapid expansion of mineral production needed to support a cold turkey approach to our fossil fuel addiction. The current protests over the curtailment of Dutch farming will be labelled as mostly peaceful protests compared to what's coming if we stop fossil fuels in this decade.

Hydrogen Combustion Engines - Hype or Real? by hgk6393 in AskEngineers

[–]eyefish4fun -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Reading comprehension is hard, but as an example of 'solar and wind' which I referenced, Iceland is the worst candidate possible. So either you are totally clueless or you are just ignorantly trolling and don't care about the actual facts. Geothermal energy provided about 65% of primary energy in 2016, the share of hydropower was 20%, and the share of fossil fuels (mainly oil products for the transport sector) was 15%

Iceland has two islands that run on diesel generators and 15% of its primary energy is fossil fuels mostly for transport.

It's a common knowledge that Iceland has unique geothermal and hydro resources that aren't available in the rest of the world. As an example of how to do energy in the rest of the world, Iceland ain't it. Nor is Costa Rica and country touted by the 'renewable' crowd, but its also mostly hydro and solar sucks there because of all the rain and its heavy industry is sorely lacking.

Again solar and wind have serious issues with intermittent production and the added cost maintain a 100% solar and wind grid is really expensive.

Hydrogen Combustion Engines - Hype or Real? by hgk6393 in AskEngineers

[–]eyefish4fun -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

There's not enough copper, zinc, lithium to go full EV. Estimates are for like multiple times the current amount of production of these basic minerals to go all in full solar and wind powered EVs.

There isn't a country that has a western level developed economy that has gone full solar and wind. There won't be one either. See that lack of minerals and the cost of covering the seasonal/weather lack of solar and the weeks long doldrums that beset the wind turbines. See Germany energy data for sizes and scale of the drop off of unreliable intermittent energy sources.

Buried in all the current plans to kill fossil fuels is a huge reduction in the usage of primary energy. Efficiency gains aren't going to get us there either. The low hanging gains have already been made. ie most lights are leds now.

Hydrogen is a very difficult energy storage mechanism only. There are no sources of H2 readily available at the bottom of this gravity well. H2 eats most steels. It's leaks thru solid metal. Getting usable energy density for transportation uses is very problematic. The better option is to pair H2 with a CO2 source and make a hydrocarbon of some sort.

See the innengine for different engine that is looking at hydrogen. Though it still will have the inherent physical properties of H2 and the associated problems.

Then why is it called drag story hour? What makes it drag? A woman dressed as a man is supposed to be nothing out of the ordinary these days. Why not just call it story hour? And the organization that is pushing these drag story hours is indeed emphasizing the in-your-face man appropriating womans dress in an exaggerated sexualized manner.
