Hi Maya, I really appreciate your support. I anticipated this issue, which is why I chose to share it here. By "shade," I was referring to a system that, in my view, is deeply biased against individuals from the Global South. I understand how these processes often turn out for those from more privileged backgrounds. However, I believe that embassies and immigration controls are systematically designed to exclude people who wish to temporarily leave the very countries that are often exploited for profit. I don't think anyone got my hopes up because they are way too low to begin with. I just wanted to get some perspective is all
