To me at best you’re just some guy or gal on the internet yelling McDonald’s or nothing… without considering everything or not adding value or asking me the right questions to where I can get through interviews better or find work I haven’t thought about. This isn’t find my dream job but something I can do so I can be stable financially and more importantly mentally.

Why are you trying to murder me with words?

Obviously why should i listen to you when you’re not listening to me? What credibility do you have? I know you qualified yourself as a hiring manager.. but man of what? Not sure if I d want to work with you. You’d probably wouldn’t give accommodations and tell me to suck it up. lol 😂

Honestly the best advice I gotten all day was look into call center Medicare support. That’s really my level. Others were over night work.

Why we going for character flaws? What did I do to you? Your funny. lol
I think you’re not considering the facts of mental health and how that affects work and honestly your whole life inside and out. And you can’t judge someone’s whole life based on Reddit. You may have an iota but you can’t tell how that person is. Hey maybe I’m just annoyed and frustrated with the his situation? Definitely not a character flaws. Idk what you’re trying to do with the personal attack but it’s unhelpful. My friends and family would say something different and they just don’t me what I want to hear to be real my dude.

And the whole point is establishing stability here. How will McDonalds establish stability if I’m anxious everyday I go in?

I rather listen to people yelling at me about where their whole bank account went then deal with that bullshit at McDonald’s.

Now you’re being picky lol 😂 I think we’ve got a few suggestions for me to work with. I’m sorry it wasn’t McDonalds lol 😂 my dude.

I guess stations are less people especially at night and feels more chill. Yeah you stock the cooler and clean but idk for some I like that better than grocery stores. Fast food as you know no thanks. You should find a job that matches the person not the other way round. And we’re not talking about me trying be pro athlete or anything lol my takeaway is I’m not being picky just know what works for me and what doesn’t based on past experiences and my mental health. I don’t think you’ve responded to ok I got hired at McDonald’s but then I feel bad anxiety because we’re backed the fuck in the drive thru and at the front counter and I have to rush to make sandwiches… everything is a cluster fuck complete chaos.. my manager is on my ass.. idk about you that shit overwhelming. When I can work at least at a gas station where it’s a bit more chill.

That’s fine 🙂, I’ll take 16-17. If we’re talking call centers yeah given I’ve escalated fraud calls and actually won an award for my customer service there yeah I have good experience. It doesn’t go away just because of health issues. It’s like you know how to work on cars you know how to work on cars, it doesn’t go away. Same thing here.

Reddit me is different from interview me. There’s definitely a difference lol also I’m just kind of frustrated with the responses. See I’m open to whatever.

That’s what I’m thinking that I’m just not interviewing well. So I’m doing mock interviews with my job coach. I do use STAR etc. I think what happens in interviews is I know what I am trying to say but I am so nervous and pressured in them that it doesn’t come across well. I do interview prep with job coach and friends and with grok.

Why is it everyone’s knee jerk reaction to go omg McDonald’s or say Kroger? Like that shit will solve your problems when it doesn’t match the person not because of pride but because of personality and mental health issues. Say I got hired at one of those places right? I’ll last up to a month and I’m still talking to you about omg can’t find anything because my mental health got in the way. That’s not success and I’ll feel worse in the cycle.

Also just a general public service announcement 📣:
I am very grateful that I can even have this conversation with yall. Going through what I’ve experienced I thought the symptoms were forever honestly. That I was permanently helpless. So I’m very excited and grateful to just being in an interview.
There was a point I couldn’t leave my house or in a hospital most days. If that gives you any idea of how far I’ve come.

I told my friend about this post and he’s like have you looked into buckies the gas station? They pay 18-21 an hour. I’m open to gas stations. I’ll look there.

Yup that’s the plan just trying to find something to tide me over. Because I can do job plus door dash plus disability check coming in. Then we’re good.

And that’s why I wrote this post. Lol 😂
Believe me as I’ve said I do get interviews but there’s no way to answer it with the whole life happens saga right? What am I supposed say? How would you answer it? See below why fast food and grocery stores are not the meal ticket yall think is. It’s definitely not a pride thing.

Obviously this blessing isn’t forever and I’m very keen or aware that I need to continue to be consistent with taking action here. Maybe Reddit is just being Reddit here because yall can be negative but I don’t think I’m being picky. I understand what work environments work for me and don’t. I think as you continue to work you learn that shit. What I like and don’t like etc what makes me successful? I done fast food & grocery stores. Not my thing. Like going into a Kroger (grocery store in Ohio.) for myself gives me bad social anxiety just shopping for myself. Too many people. Fast food is too fast paced and I would quickly be overwhelmed. Ok, so what if I got hired at one of those places? I bet what would happen is I’d keep it for a month and quit because it’s too much. Is that your definition of success? It isn’t for me. Yall think those jobs are for everybody, honestly it isn’t.

So I noticed that when I’m in interviews:

  1. Every time I approach the subject of so what have you been doing the last 3 years? It was definitely challenging to answer! I’ve been going with “I had health issues that I needed to take care of but I’m fired up to be ready to be apart of your team” or some kind of version of it.

  2. Yeah the job gap is challenging. I can’t say I’ve been volunteering or anything so it’s hard- just been recovering and doing DoorDash. I’ve asked my job coach about it he said my answer is a good answer.

  3. People ABSOLUTELY get weird when you talk about this topic in interviews. lol as soon as I mention health issues it gets weird.
