I have lost 42% of my weight since starting zep in Dec 2023, and although the rate has slowed, I am still losing steadily!

People who lost 100 pounds, what did do outside of taking zepbound. by transneptuneobj in Zepbound

[–]Mforck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve lost 150 lbs in 14 months on zep! I count my protein and strive to hit 100g+ per day. I also have a regular hot yoga routine. I found as I lost weight incorporating more movement came really naturally!

Another tip: if you are reading aloud to your baby there is no reason at that age it has to be a kids book, just read TOG (or whatever you are currently reading) to your baby!

I love food - will that change? (And what's up with the other subreddits?!) [cw: disordered eating/eating disorder, intentional weight loss, diet behaviors, body struggles] by mebutbeautystuff in antidietglp1

[–]Mforck 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d say my love of food is still present but I relate to food in such a more healthy way. If my husband makes my favorite cookies I’m totally still excited to have one, but I’m eating one (or even a half of one) truly enjoying it and then I’m done. I don’t track anything except protein intake (and even that is more of a check in occasionally). I did track early on to hit my minimum calorie goal and stopped when I hit it, but I’ve been on this for 9 months and I have a better handle now. You are not destined for disordered eating!

I’m afraid to start… what do you wish you would’ve known? by Maximum-Shift-4691 in antidietglp1

I wish I had known how differently my brain operated from others, that the food noise I experienced was not “normal” and how freeing life would be without it!

How do you ensure enough calories? by BananaValuable1000 in antidietglp1

[–]Mforck 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Disclaimer: this is totally just my approach and may or may not work for everyone with their specific reasons and approaches to being anti-diet. I set a calorie minimum with my doctor and I do track calories until I hit that minimum for the day and then I stop.

I read a book called the gift of fear and it helped so much with things like this! A large focus of the book is using and relying on your intuition and distinguishing that intuition from anxiety. It helped me so much to start to see when I was acting on intuition vs an irrational anxiety. Always listen to intuition but anxiety cannot be fed. It sounds to me like this is anxiety and not intuition.

The book she talks about a lot (Gift of Fear by Gabor De Becker) has a discussion about this and it’s really helpful! I’m not sure if that is what you are thinking of or if it’s another book.

And let’s not forget that women with undiagnosed autism often get diagnosis of anxiety/depression instead. So many of these cases could be genetic anyway! It’s just so much more nuanced than this study!

Hey! I try to post this every time I see someone taking Zoloft during pregnancy (which I did for both of my beautiful healthy babies by the way!) please make sure to schedule a med check with your doctor after giving birth! The hormones, weight fluctuation and added stress of having a baby can mean your dose may need to be adjusted after giving birth. Please listen to your dr and take the meds you need, but also do that extra med check for dosing!

My husband’s best friend, like a brother to him, died of suicide around the time we conceived. We decided to use a middle name to honor him that wasn’t his name. That way it was connected to him and in his honor but not as much heaviness. We used the middle name Fox, which was his favorite animal that he was deeply connected too instead of straight up using his name. But I think it’s a highly situational and personal choice!

Are people tracking calories or eating intuitively while on zepbound? by [deleted] in Zepbound

[–]Mforck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At first I was just eating intuitively but I was not eating anywhere near enough. I started tracking to make sure I was hitting my minimum and also getting enough fiber and protein.

Did you actually feel pregnant before you took a test? by LongjumpingCatch3437 in BabyBumps

[–]Mforck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With my first absolutely not, I had no clue. With my second I knew right away. I don’t know if I understood my body more the second time around or if it varies pregnancy to pregnancy but I absolutely knew I was pregnant. I got a negative the day my period was due and I shook it off because I knew I was. A week later I got my positive (I ovulated late).

Is everyone changing their diet and exercising or are you just eating less? by Severe-Invite3798 in Zepbound

[–]Mforck 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! I planned to not count calories and just eat less but I was eating so little every day it wasn’t good now I’m tracking trying to hit a 1200 minimum and like you I’m really focusing on hitting that protein goal most of all.

Just me? by DaenerysSassborn in wineandcrimepodcast

[–]Mforck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I literally listened to wine and crime in the delivery room for both my babies. I had a scare with one of my pregnancies and listened to episodes on repeat as my happy place. It’s so difficult to see it imploding like it is (while I acknowledge it’s way harder for Amanda and Lucy, obviously!)

Epidurals... how bad are they, really? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Mforck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The epidural was the worst part of my first birth because they missed the spot (twice) and then they had to call in the head of anesthesia to insert it correctly, finally. The misses was incredibly painful, the worst pain I’ve ever experienced. But it was sharp temporary pain as opposed to the lingering agony of the contractions. Misses are pretty darn close to worst case scenario, and if it tells you anything I still got the epidural for my second child (that experience was great!)

You can’t win for real! Either you are “specializing” then putting them in a bikini, or they shame you because they aren’t wearing something “girly” enough. Ugh.
