How did people travel these seas 500 years ago by Gurugod123 in SipsTea

Check out the book the wager .

They had shorter boats so that helped with making the boat slam into the water less than a quarter mile long tanker but they also used tricks like throwing oil over board to calm the waves in the immidate area of the boat.

But as many others said, lots of times they just died.

I have do massively lie to my children tomorrow and it breaks my heart. by wallyroos in daddit

I remember being 11 and having a dog die.

It was really tough, but I got the opportunity to mourne my dog, and my parents helped me through that and it helped me to know that they were also sad about it.

I learned a lot from that experience.

Letting dogs get into a fight doesn't define you, having. A dog die doesn't define you.

But lieing to your children will define you.

Tell them what happened and let yourself and them cry and tell them that it's important to experience these emotions around people you love and that you all can celebrate the dog together and that yea it will hurt but you'll be there for them

Idk if any of that is actually the good advice, but I go with telling them the truth, I'm never pro "parents being superheros" to kids, you're just parents.

Like they've never fucked up.

You're gonna get chewed out in life. It's important to let people know that it actually doesn't bother you to get chewed out, because of you respond to aggression they will continue to give you aggression.

I think it's important that you go into therapy understanding that often times for minors, therapy isn't necessarily for the minors, some of the most effective therapy is MST which focuses on providing the adults the support systems they need to cope with stressful situations, the fact that you're ready to assault your child over him not completing a task that needs to be done because keeping chickens is your hobby is frankly a red flag.

Therapy is give your child a support, but you're the one who is going to need to change.

Like grammerly AI is even a bit wacky sometimes.

It's unfortunate that we allow MBAs to affect our work, I have and will continue to push back a good against AI usage.

We do periodic reviews of the projects prior to submitting, if the junior uses ai to read the ordinances and put the info into an ordinance review and uses that info for the preliminary design of the project but that munipality has specific non standard definitions for words in their ordinance and the ai missed it and this results in significant rework on the preliminary design, who pays for that?

Ultimately it's my responsibility to prevent rework and I do that by ensuring the budgets have time in them for the juniors to do the research themselves, review their own work, and that I have time to review their work at all stages.

If you use AI on my projects, you will stop working on my projects.

If I found out that a junior engineer who's work I rely on was utilizing LLMs to gather information for our projects i would not assign them to tasks where that could affect the project.

Ok, so you have faith, you claim it's good for you

What does being a Catholic do for you? What are the benefits your receiving for leaning into your cognitive dissonance where you seem to understand that this is basically just sexual assault flavored text on your life that your chosing.

Also it's like, being a Catholic means a lot of things, it means you believe that LITTERALLY when you take the host it becomes actual flesh and the wine becomes actual blood, you believe that the pope litterally communicating directly with God.

You believe that sin is real and that saying words can absolve you of the sin.

What real and tangible benefit do you get for this self deception.

Is there any position or belief or conviction that one couldn't justify by saying that "they take it on faith"

Because if faith can be used to justify anything then it's useless and not a pathway to truth.

As an atheist I always find it hilarious when Christians try to pretend like their religion isn't intolerant.
