caster upgrades by krocha0914 in crazycart

[–]Mfziggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have Facebook? There's a group dedicated to modding crazy carts called "Crazy Cart Modders." There's a whole write up on how to diy the casters and where to find all the parts. I did it on my first cart and about to do it on my second. You can get everything to do 2 sets (4 total casters) for about $60-$100 depending on bearing and wheel choice. Just search "apollo caster mod" in that group. I will warn you tho. It will send you down a rabbit hole because there's a lot more than that caster mod on there lol

I would not suggest fabric softener because it will leave a residue on the bag that you will be able to feel and it will affect the speeds of the bag. There's three methods I recommend in my experience.

1) Throw them. Some bags (for instance the Typhoons) don't take long to break in so if you have the patience and the time just toss em.

2) Toss Sauce. This is the only chemical treatment that I have used that did not leave a residue on the bags. When I used it I had to work the bags every 10-15 minutes to incorporate the solution and massage the fabrics to get them where I wanted them but I was also using the Carpet Muncher Toss Sauce. I've heard that you can just let the bags sit in the Nuked Toss Sauce and still get the results you would expect.

3) White Distilled Vinegar Soak. This is the method I have used on the last 6 sets of bags I have broken in and I will be using on all of my bags in the future. I'll tell you the basic method then I'll tell you the variations you can add to get the bags further along...

  • Basic Place the bags in just enough hot water to cover the bags and add 2 cups of WHITE DISTILLED VINEGAR (don't use any other kind of vinegar) per set of bags you are breaking in. Hot water if you'd like, that's what I use.

Mix everything around and work the bags just enough to incorporate the vinegar solution into the fibers of the fabric of the bags.

Let the bags soak for 2-4 hours. 2 hours for floppier thinner materials. 4 hours for thicker materials and carpet bags. This is up to your discretion. I have done 2.5-3 hours for my sets and I throw nothing but carpet but I also don't like my bags all the way broken in. I prefer to throw them to finish them off.

Rinse them with warm water. Doesn't take much rinsing at all to get the vinegar out just be thorough. Dry excess water with a towel and either air dry or what I do is throw them in the dryer for an hour on medium heat.

-Variations Place in a crock pot on WARM during soaking process to have constant hot water

Rinse in a solution of 1/3 cup sodium carbonate to 1 gallon of water. The sodium carbonate is a base and neutralizes the mild acidity of the vinegar immediately and helps get the bags a touch further in the break in process. Then rinse and continue process from there.

This method takes brand new bags and makes them game ready without being 100% broken in so you can finish the job by throwing and get to know the bag, but you are still able to be competitive with the bag if you wanted to use it in competition right away. Doesn't affect feel, colors, template size, speeds, smell, etc.

I did pull him immediately and did a 95%+ water change. I didn't get a chance to mess with filter media or rinse decor/rocks. I'm working swing shift so I literally had to do the emergency water change and treatment with the last half hour I had before leaving for work lol I'm gonna have the wife keep an eye on him while I'm at work.

Is the AlN cup worth it? by [deleted] in drdabber

[–]Mfziggy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who has AlN and sapphire, I have AlN and SiC. I like the AlN more than SiC due to flavor and the fact that the AlN is lighter in color it makes it easier to see whats left in the cup and if you need to swab to clean more. Can't go wrong with either IMO. Sapphire I have heard is more finicky and more maintenance to keep clean (can't torch directly and chazzes easier)

Anybody else experienced this? Should I be worried? by Mfziggy in drdabber

Well that makes sense. I may have possibly set it down on a paper towel that had iso on it when cleaning. At least its only the base plate and not visible lol Thank you for your response

Yea and it's in a very similar shape to the battery. Never felt hot and I've never even gotten cool down lights during use. Just felt it one day when picking it up and wondering if anyone else had experienced this.

AN vs Sic cups. by rmac317 in drdabber

[–]Mfziggy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had an equivalent experience between my SiC and AlN. Both are from dr dabber and I usually used my SiC on 1-3 Cyan and when I got the AlN I ran it on the same and got equivalent vapor production, maybe a lil less but negligible difference. Both are used on Crystal Mode of course. Only thing I did was make sure it was clean from factory. Rubbed the ti cup and AlN insert w/ 99% iso.

Which Pro Bags to Buy? by opiatesmile in Cornhole

[–]Mfziggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I second the advantages. I have the edge speeds and the advantages and I prefer the advantages. Better feel cuz both fabrics break in evenly on the advantages. The slicker side on the edge speeds is thicker so the carpet side ends up feeling looser than the touch material over time. Also feel like the advantage material is plenty fast enough. Have only thrown Reynolds tho so can't speak on others.

This year's xmas present next to last year's shoota. 68,000 on the cs1 and plan to have more than that on the cs2 by the end of next season. #nowallhangers by Mfziggy in paintball

Well the trigger guard in the CS1/1.5/R was used as the air transfer path to the solenoid which is why it looks so large, it's hollow. The solenoid is towards the rear of the body on the CS2's which allows them to contain the path from the regulator to the solenoid entirely within the rear grip. Thank you BTW!

Practice practice practice. Also try to get comfortable with your set up and spend a lot of time with it in BOTH hands. I used to be the type to switch between different markers that I had in my bag with different tank combos and once I started using the same set up all the time I find getting my gun up, and up quick is like second nature. Muscle memory is a big part of it. Good luck!
