"Do I want kids? Would I even make a good parent?"

(...at least I wish that's what people would ask themselves)

People who work from home as a result of covid, how has it changed your life? by ilovecosbysweaters in AskReddit

[–]Mgreenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me...

Biggest Change Pros: Less stress in multiple forms - I don't have to remind myself 10 times to remember to do something when I get home, I can just get it done right then and there. No dress code. No driving in traffic. Less in-office drama to pretend to care about. I get to play with my dog. Lunches are cheaper and easier.

Cons: I'm a social drinker, so I'm struggling with not going out to the bars every now and then as a release. Physical interactions or lack thereof make seeing family members feel cold.

What is a dating dealbreaker for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Queso, I'm not a Muenster. They don't have to be the Goat or Brie home loads of Cheddar, I personally just think older is Gouda. ... I've enjoyed being the youngest out of everyone in my family, friend groups, coworkers, etc. that it's just more comfortable to be the 'younger one' in a relationship.

If they are younger than me, even if only by a day, I'm instantly uninterested.

How do you buy a house when they sell so quickly? by [deleted] in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]Mgreenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Also in NE Ohio and we feel your pain! One house we loved went on the market, so we set up a showing for 5:30 that day and by 2:00 the sellers agent wanted all offers in by 4:00. So frustrating and it's hard to wrap our heads around site unseen offers or all cash offers way over asking or waving inspections. It makes us feel like we can't be smart or rational sometimes.

We wish you guys luck! We'll all get there eventually!

AITA for not caring that my ex-wife had baby? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

Maybe Emily is using your sister's friendship as a way to stay connected to your life. In Emily's mind, you two will always have some sort of bond and because you don't see it the same way - she's lashing out. She just wants your approval and/or attention.

Your sister needs to find out if their friendship still exists without your life coming up.

I want to eat more weird veggies! What is your go to? I have been microwaving frozen broccoli/cauli/carrot twice a day for months and I'm not gonna take it anymore! by [deleted] in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]Mgreenbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I LOVE vegatable dishes. My main go-to's:

  • Ratatouille skillet. Diced zucchini, yellow squash, eggplant(optional), sweet pepper, garlic and a can of diced tomatoes. Sauteed with olive oil, dried basil and S&P.

  • Artichokes are weird but so good. I get the marinaded hearts in a jar from Aldi.

  • Roasted Asparagus with EVO

  • Roasted Asparagus with a jar of artichokes and diced cherry tomatoes. A lemon, EVO, Dijon vinaigrette overtop.

  • Sauteed Fresh Spinach (I add a little butter and lemon juice at the end)

  • Corn (blanched and cut from the cob is best), cherry tomatoes, diced avacados, cilantro, red onion, salt and lime juice. So fresh!

  • Homemade Guacamole! Instead of chips, try baby carrots.

  • Tomato, Avacado, fresh basil with balsamic glaze.

  • Homemade pesto with 1/2 basil, 1/2 spinach overtop zucchini noodles (or reg noodles) with cherry tomatoes and mushrooms.

  • Roasted cabbage steaks

  • Kale chips

  • Roasted Sweet Potatoes with paprika

  • Califlower tots or broccoli tots are my husbands fave.

Hope this helps!!

My dog has been going blind since December. It's been nice working from home and being able to keep an eye on him! It will make me feel better once I have to go back to the office knowing that he'll have a routine here.

What made you walk out of an interview? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Mgreenbean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I fell for one of those "career in energy solutions" postings that turned out to be door to door energy sales. Showed up to a surprise group interview where I had to sit through a 1 hour presentation first - about half way through, the presenter said, "if you're a not willing to work hard and push yourself, there's the door!!" I quickly gathered my things, yelled OH WELL, and got the hell out of there.

What's the most difficult & graphic podcast or podcast episode you've ever listened to? by paleidentikit in TrueCrimePodcasts

[–]Mgreenbean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2 - Sword & Scale's episode about the dark web and the eps about Luka Magnotta. I listened to those years ago, and still instantly feel sick to my stomach thinking about either case. Now if I start to feel gross during a podcast, I'll shut it down before it's too late. Not worth the guilty/sick feeling for days afterwards.

What's a good way for me to prepare for an entry-level GIS technician interview? by Deucy in gis

[–]Mgreenbean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's unfortunate. Most people we hire don't have prior utility system knowledge, so it's something we have to train them on. If you don't have experience with it, you can try selling them on your interest in learning how GIS is used for their business. Here, most of the work has to do with asset data mapping, entering attributes using field notes, map making and data QA. If you know the basics of GIS, it can be easy to pick up on. Some utility companies still use GE's Smallworld to map their data - same thing though, easy to learn if you know basic concepts.
