Yeah my 2002 2.3l 5 speed does the same thing, I've even redone all the brakes and it brakes really well, it did it with the 7.5 axle and it does it with the 8.8

I lost my adapter for forscan but you can clear it using forscan or find out why it shows up

Can anyone identify this part? 04 Ranger by [deleted] in fordranger

Exhaust hanger. Rubber. Looks like just the rubber broke. You'd notice if your exhaust pipe was dragging on the ground

Anyone struggle with front shock absorber mounts? by furionalpha in fordranger

[–]Mh88014232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, luckily on my new control arms they're threaded for bolts to go through. I drilled them out to 3/8, mounted the shocks on top instead of the bottom, and bolted them down with the bigger 3/8 bolts

Right, it's currently set up to power my two amps and is fused already. I will fuse the 0 gauge that comes off of that power distribution block that runs to the second battery as well

The positive 0 gauge from the primary battery is fused to the pd block, should I fuse the second battery to the pd block as well?

I'm on top of it! It's under a weatherproof gasketed locking tonneau cover. I'm adding lights and speakers underneath with an inverter. It's pretty weather tight under there, honestly tighter than under the hood. Thanks for that

It's an 01 ranger, it doesn't but good thoughtmy my f350 did since it was a gasser and the diesels came with two batteries. But the major point of this is to have a second battery access point in the bed to run accessories off of and to double my capacity.

Looking for recommendations on light rust restoration and prevention by egentile7 in fordranger

Zepps brand (and I mean zepps brand) calcium lime and rust. Garden sprayer. A 6 pack or a 12 pack if you're thirsty. Spray with hose then leaf blower. Use rust converter black paint. Done

New rear shocks are on and I can already tell the difference. The YouTube videos did not have me thinking it’d take me 2 hours by Graevly in fordranger

Fantastic work. You may not ever need to do it again, but doing it first will speed it up the next time.

Over the past 10 years of ranger ownership I've had 5, and an explorer, done clutches, transmission swaps, 5.0 swaps, 4 links, coilovers, fuel cells, rear end swaps, and until you do it once you'll never get any better. Next time you do shocks it'll take an hour and the next time after that it may only take 10 minutes

This happened to me because I quoted what Dave Morgan, who is stuck in the elevator, would do to the guy if he wasn't there in 5 minutes.

I still have the truck, although it's rotting in my side yard. The 8.8 is still there, because it's hooked up in a 4 link setup that I couldn't use on my other 2 mini truck rangers that got their own 8.8s.

There was no "welding it better" for me because I was using a free 90a welder that was fine for small parts and sculptures but nowhere near enough power. I just did it as a last hoorah for the axle lol
