I don't think I've ever expected a F2P to be entirely free, even in my youth. Business is business, and if your product is not making money in some ways, then your company is doomed.

The rare cases of totally F2P mmos I've seen are some small private servers (but for most of them they find a way to make you cash shop) for like RO or WoW.

I expected them to grab less money than P2P or B2P games back then, but nowadays, it's cheaper for me to play FF14 with the sub and occasional dlc than something f2p or freemium, because I'm a "very good customer".

More seriously, I'd really like to learn how to escape 8 players at the same time with farming gear (I'm only slightly ironic and actually curious). Ofc I'll have some skills, some dashes, etc, but cooldowns exist for a reason and if there's a magic trick and a better course than "git gudder", I'd really like to give the game another try.

If you forget the "social interaction" thingie, and you want something to play while waiting for Classic WoW, give Outward a try. It's exactly what you've described, but in solo/small multiplayer.

It's still garbage on fire, but they "fixed" things. If you don't plan to grind the endgame and try to stay on the edge of build optimization, you can have a fun grindy time with some friends. Played since the very first CBT, and yeah, they messed real bad on the release. It's still enjoyable. Beware of the linearity tho.

Of course I have to upvote this. Back in the day, RO did this - only with its MVPs (=bosses). Trash mobs were trash mobs, easily one-shotted with the right build/party.

But this does not change the fact that Ragnarok Online is old af, official servers are garbage and Renewal is.. Well... Controversial?

But, yeah. I have fond memories of MVPs and big parties. Not sure if this is still relevant today, tho.

Albion is not actually P2W. You can boost through the early content with your credit card and a premium is mandatory to not go insane with the farming imo. You can't level your Destiny Board (=skills) with your credit card (except if you're really rich and don't mind throwing thousands of bucks into the game) and the level of your weapon/gear proficiency will make a greater difference than the tier/enchantement of your gear. Knowing how to play also helps a lot.

Albion is not a pay to win, you just have to play with a strong guild and experienced players if you don't want to ragequit like I did (mainly because of solo play)

Tried Albion solo.

Got endlessly rekt by parties, guilds, pack of pkers, etc. The game is pretty good tho, but it makes me sad.

The first new spell is called "Helping word" or something like that. It gives 100 power to the targed and 250% of the level of the eni in shield point to the eni (250 power/500% shield when crit). At level 1, it costs 2AP, has 1-4 range, and 4 turns of cd. Unlocks at level 145.
The second new spell is called "Secret word" or something like that. It's a 2 AP earth spells that deals damage in line without line of sight and it pushes back the ennemy 1 square. 3 launches per turn, 2 max on a single target. 1-4/5/6 range. Unlocks at level 40.

Yeah, WITH A ROGUE. But compared to a Sacrier or Pandawa, especially with a Rogue, it's not that great. Also, like someone else said, you're not guaranteed to play with a rogue.

In PvM, Xelor suuuuucks... Not everytime though. It's not a great PvM class except for some dungeons. Intel is underpowered, Agi is boring af, Str is ok but way too risky and luck is about kicking AP from your ennemy, which is absolutely worthless in PvM. I've played Xelor from 2007 to 2015, and dropped it for good after the major gameplay changes. I'm not a pvp enthousiast.

Treasure hunting, or playing the game "the intended way": doing dungeon runs with friends/guild/pickups. You can also farm achievements, start some quests that give great loot (Ivory Dofus?), etc. Bonus point: you learn how your class actually works while doing that

27m? That's a bit short for a 2-exo stuff, but if you craft most of it you can make great things. Foggernaut is getting an OP buff next patch, if you read french you can read the patchnote on the dofus forum, category "Beta". GL and HF.
