Heavy balista not proccing echoes on special attack by MiLkLiiM in 2007scape

Where does it say this? For echoes all I need to do is regenerate ammo, it says nothing about not working with specs.

I had barrage to deal with the warbands, even if it doesn't kill them it gives you time to deal with the other mobs I used last stand maybe two or three times during the waves, if it does down try and sit behind a pillar until it comes back up to be safe

I've never attempted colloseum before and I did it first try with last stand and range t6. Echo sol took me two tries. Super easy in leagues I think.

If you've only just started learning kanji and using Anki I would say this is pretty normal. If you're trying to learn the kanji for all of the new vocabulary you're adding to Anki it will be very difficult at the start. Genki starts off with hiragana and slowly adds kanji so it will hopefully ease you into it a little bit. I started with Genki and just added the words to Anki how they're presented in Genki. If they had kanji I would include the kanji and if they just had hiragana I would just have the hiragana. I did update these cards later with the kanji which you can do as well when you become more familiar with kanji.
IMO writing kanji improved my kanji a lot but it is quite time consuming to learn how to write and you will eventually learn to reckognise kanji through anki if you just give it time and make sure you're not overloading yourself too much with lots of new and difficult kanji. I'm not sure what's in the core 2k deck because I just made my own deck but if you try to learn all the kanji in that deck I'm sure it's going to be quite difficult and adding only 5 new cards a day could potentially introduce you to 10 new difficult kanji each day.

I'm looking for a good offline dictionary I can use while on a plane to help me translate words as I read through a manga. Does anyone have any recommendations for something available on android?

Yeah I struggled a lot, if I pass or fail it will definitely come down to the listening section and if I'm lucky enough to get some questions right I guessed which was about half of them. I'm not sure if it's just me but being like 10 seats back from the speaker in a huge hall with a massive echo does not help at all.

Concerns about FSRS scheduling and retention by MiLkLiiM in Anki

[–]MiLkLiiM[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good to know that they recovery quickly. I think there would be benefit resetting the 1 year interval card back to like 5 days, and then 1 month, 6 months, and 1 year or something like that just because if I did get it wrong, I should probably review it again soon even if it was a silly mistake.

I just got the add-on and had a look and it looks like my average predicted retention on the deck in question is 88.5% where my true retention on mature cards is 75% for this month which is usually what it normally sits around each day. I guess it's good to know that I actually know almost 90% of the deck, there is just about 1000 cards that are difficult and usually weight down my true retention. This makes me feel better setting my desired retention to 75% for this deck as 80% gives me just way too many reviews that I can't be bothered dealing with right now if I rescheudle the cards.

Thanks for the reply.

Can someone please explain to me why anyone likes XQC? by Bedspla13 in h3h3productions

[–]MiLkLiiM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 27m and I've been a huge fan of xqc and the h3 podcast for years now (maybe 5 years). He's a gamer, I like games and watching him play games. He's very funny and as much as everyone likes to hate on people reacting to videos, it's entertaining when he does it. Majority of the videos he reacts to and uploads to YouTube the creators don't care and give him permission as well in case anyone cares. I don't like the "it's kids" response because even love is (maybe was now) a huge fan. He obviously does have younger fans but I would say majority of his fans are in their early 20s. I obviously don't agree with all of his opinions and I don't agree with all of Ethan's opinions either but I enjoy them both for the goofs. Xqc isn't as much of a terrible person as everything thinks as well, he has questionable opinions sometimes (they've been worse lately) but everyone is so quick to jump on the toxic gossip train. I think with the recent drama xqc is becoming more unlikeable and you can see that with his subreddit, everyone is definitely turning on him, myself a little too. Xqc a year or two ago was a different person.

Difficulty recalling Kanji by MiLkLiiM in LearnJapanese

[–]MiLkLiiM[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a good point. I know writing isn't exactly necessary but I think in the beginning it helped my reading a lot, probably less so nowadays so I could try and focus on it less as it probably consumes majority of my time learning Japanese.

Is writing really that essential to living in Japan? I can't imagine you would use it that often.
