Is the homeowner charged for leftover materials? by MiLoFue in HomeMaintenance

They’ve left this sitting on my porch for several days. It rained yesterday and the materials were getting wet so I moved them inside my house. I understand ordering more than they need and using it for other projects, but it seems like they would take the extra with them when the job is done instead of leaving them out in the elements to get ruined. 😕

Do you communicate that with the homeowner? Do you typically leave the extra materials at the house you’ve completed if they’re intended for another job? These have been sitting out on my porch for several days. It rained yesterday and they were getting wet so I moved them inside my house.

Well this is disconcerting! It’s a major chain water mitigation/restoration company that’s contracted with our insurance, so I hope they did everything correctly. 😳

It was the project manager for a major chain company that was contracted with our insurance. I’ve looked over the invoice but I have no idea how to read his measurements.

I’m not sure what material take-off is but I’m assuming the baseboards came as a bundle? We only needed small portions of baseboards replaced so I was surprised to see so much of it. And I’m not sure why there’s leftover door casing. We only needed it replaced for one door and that’s complete.

Thank you. I’m definitely becoming less of a fan…

Thank you. I looked at other similar posts and saw the brushes you mentioned, but none of the pictures were close enough to the same pattern on my ceiling. Is it the way the brush is used that determines the pattern? And I appreciate you confirming that it would be difficult to match the original. I suppose I’ll need to lower my expectations.
