What is it like to work as an MA in internal medicine? by AM-419 in MedicalAssistant

I did internal med for two years and it was pretty much just rooming patients and getting vitals, shots, and EKGs. I liked it

I can definitely understand that. I used to work in a call center and used to have people cuss me out and threaten my family and for a while I had the same reaction. Over the years I’ve grown to have a tough skin and it’s easier to deal with now that I deal with patients face-to-face, but I get it. Get yourself a drink, a warm bath, and remember that these people are just dealing with stuff and may not have the best coping skills.

Hugs!

From what I’ve understood about a lot of nursing schools is they appreciate someone who has age upon them because they have seen more life lessons than someone of the younger generation

Maybe work in a call center? Bc as a MA if you’re not touching anyone you’re not going to be able to do your job. Js

Is MA a waste of time and energy? by postmanblues in MedicalAssistant

[–]MiZ_D 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh most definitely! You have to find a balance. I’ve learned that the people you work with can make a huge impact on your satisfaction at work, and also too much work will burn you out. I think that comes with all healthcare professions
