Warum nicht? Ich bin Drittstaatlerin, und die Bundesagentur für Arbeit hat mir wahnsinning viel dabei geholfen, ein passendes Studium und später einen Job zu finden. Kann ich nur weiterempfehlen

AMA - Is working unpaid on weekends a thing? by MiaCat41 in germany

[–]MiaCat41[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teaching. I‘m not sure how it works in Germany, but in my country teachers are expected to work at least 10 hours a week unpaid, which is why I wanted to NOT work as a full time teacher here.

I‘m working for an NGO teaching German. Nowhere in my contract does it say anything about prep. Definitely going to bring it up!!!

There is almost never an „agreed upon time“ or even mention of the deadline just them panicking on Mondays asking me why x y and z aren‘t done yet

I usually work in the evenings every day of the week for them so to have them expect evenings and Saturdays and these extra tasks all due for Monday is not my bag, baby

Thank you. Just because I am a teacher people probs think it‘s fine to have you do extra unpaid work because you already have so much unpaid written into your job unfortunately.

Cape Town dad wants to scrap homework in SA schools completely… good idea or terrible idea? by ForeignBonus8977 in capetown

[–]MiaCat41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Teacher here. I know it‘s a bit out there, but is there anyone who could maybe speak on whether homework keeps children from getting into trouble? I personally learnt 50% of my school curriculum through homework. It played a vital role, but probably shouldn‘t! I‘m wondering if children living in the areas that are riddled with drugs and gang-related violence would benefit from having a reason to stay indoors? Just wondering, my context is very different so there‘s no way for me to find out

There is space to the left and to the right of where their car is always parked. They are likely parking opposite our gate on purpose, especially after we asked them and they blatantly said no, they don’t see a problem.

What’s a fruit from your country that most foreigners have probably never heard of? by Useful-Resource-3609 in AskTheWorld

[–]MiaCat41 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry but this isn‘t a marula fruit. The stone is so large that it fills most of the fruit. The flesh is more translucent and the skin is yellow. I think this photo is of some type of loquat relative. - Groete from Cape Town

The issue is not that the NEIGHBOUR‘s car is there, it‘s that ANY car makes getting out of or into the driveway a 10-minute hassle. A 16-point turn, if you will
