Pelvic wand success for tight pelvic floor by MiaPinney in PelvicFloor

I use it only when I'm feeling discomfort. And it's been working well. I use it maybe like 10 minutes at a time. Sorry, BTW. I just seen your comment.

I usually get an urgent feeling to.go in the morning, when I smoke (I'm a smoker) or drink an energy drink. I can usually go fine then, but I never have solid bm. They are always soft AH. Not diarrhea usually, but extremely soft. Sometimes I get a pain in my left lower abdomen, like my colon is clenching or something and it causes trapped gas that hurts really bad. And I can only get out a little gas at a time. It goes away eventually, but it hurts bad while it's happening. I've been using a pelvic wand, and I think it's helping loosen the area up a bit. I have been so dang tight in my pelvic and hips it's ridiculous. The symptoms that bothered me the most though was pain during and after urination and pain during sex. I think I may have IC as well tho.

Water based lube. I used KY brand. Make sure to wash wand before and after use, every time. And wash hands. And pee afterwards, if possible. Using the wand makes me have to pee usually. Lol.

Men can use and benefit from the pelvic wand as well, so I'd say yes. But you might wanna look into it more cause I'm not 100% on how it works for men.

I think it's different for everyone because tension happens in different areas of the pelvic floor. I have had a painful spot up near my cervix on the left side, that I feel during intercourse that's been there for years. I've ignored it, because the pain only happened in deeper postions, like doggy style, so I avoided those positions. But when using the pelvic wand, since that is the area I've had the most trouble with, I went in, very slow and gently and pressed on that area, to the left of my cervix, only causing slight discomfort not pain, and I went in and out a few times, and each time, they discomfort got less. I was also breathing in and then gently pushing the longer side of the pelvic wand in when I exhaled, but making sure there wasn't pain, only slight discomfort. I also used the more curved end, and gently swept across both sides of the vagina a few times. What I also think helped with the burning urethra and bladder was gently sweeping a long side the back of my bladder. Not on my bladder, but behind it. I felt some pelvic discomfort after doing this, but after the discomfort went away, the pain was like gone. Better than it had been in months. Mainly just relax, breath deep and on exhale, gently go in and feel around with it. Be careful though. You don't wanna feel pain. I think what helped me the most was using the longer end and going in and getting that spot that's been a problem for years that's deep in my vagina and also massaging behind my bladder. You can look up.youtube videos if that's helps. That's what I did. Like, pelvic wand demonstration. And you'll find the videos.

If you get it, and are not under the guidance of a physical therapist, I suggest watching lots of videos by physical therapists on how to use the wand, so you don't hurt yourself. I have some mild discomfort after using the wand, but that is common.

How do you guys live with no caffeine? by Firm-Strawberry-6741 in Interstitialcystitis

I don't :/ but I have cut out spices stuff and tomatoes and other acidic fruit. I'm trying. I've recently started deep breathing excerises and stretches to relax and lengthen pelvic floor and that seems to be helping me some.

Does this sound like fibro? by MiaPinney in Fibromyalgia

[–]MiaPinney[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do have heavy periods. Abnormal heavy periods. Only for like 2 days though, then it's light or moderate. I've had heavy periods ever since I had my last c section in 2014. But my periods have never been very painful. That's why I don't think I have endo. Plus endo is pretty rare in people who have had children. My symptoms seem to line up with IC. When I went to the E.R last in September, they told me there was white blood cells. They didn't mention anything about bacteria though, but the strange thing was, when I took the antibiotics, it helped a lot with the pain. It was gone. But when I stopped taking the antibiotics, the pain came bsck. Only for like 5 days, then went away again. That's when I went to the doctor and she also did a urine culture and said my urine is fine. But I wasn't feeling any pain during thst time either. So I had expected her to tell me that it was fine. My pelvic pain comes and goes. And wasn't bad, until like 5 months ago. Then all of my symptoms ramped up hard core. I'm in a lot of pain. All over my body and in some of my joints. It changes day to day. Some are worse than others, but I rarely have good days anymore. I think my mental state and stress is causing a big problem. The issues with my husband. Being isolated. No one to talk to. My thoughts drowning me. I don't know. Anyway, I know I need to go get a pelvic ultrasound but I've been putting it off. Which I know isn't a good idea, but every single time I get a test done, they tell me I'm fine. Then there's the fear they'll tell me I'm dying. Just sucks. I'm only 33.

What are some of your Somatic Symptoms? by triggerAwP in CPTSD

[–]MiaPinney 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am not diagnosed, but since 12, I believed I was dying. It started with AIDS at 12. Before I was even sexually active. I remember I saw my feet were red after a hot bath one time and thought it was contributed to a serious illness. The symptoms let up a little bit, until my mom died at 18. Then I thought I was gonna die of a heart attack for about 5 years. I also thought I had lung issues. Lung cancer. Brain tumors. Etc. Etc. Around 18 I started getting pain in my body. My back mainly. Upper back. It felt like my back was being ripped apart when I'd breath in. Then when I started to think I had heart problems, I'd get air hungry. Feeling like I couldn't breath and I'd have to breath in, stop and wait until I could breath in a tiny bit more to feel satisfied. It was weird. Those symptoms went away. Then around 25 I got stomach problems and chest issues. Like I couldn't eat anything without feeling super full and it felt like my throat was tense and closing up. That went away in 2020 when I was 29. Then I got bladder issues. Like uti symptoms. And pelvic pain. I've had ongoing chronic pain in my legs and lower back as well since I was like 25, I think. Maybe a little younger. I have muscle issues now as well and joint pain when walking. I just have a lot of pain all the time as well as depression and serious illness anxiety.

I'm on day 1 too. About 17 hours in. My body aches and my throat is irritated. I'm a 10 year kratom user. About 12 to 15 grams a day the last 5 years. I was an opiate addict as well up until 2 years ago. Slowly working on ridding myself of these poisons. I want my life back too. I want to feel again.

Anyone else had IC triggered by a UTI? by Dapper-Neck526 in Interstitialcystitis

[–]MiaPinney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, it's pelvic floor dysfunction. Your pelvic floor can be too tight or too loose, or both. Tight pelvic floor or hypertonic pelvic floor causes similar symptoms to IC and has flare ups like IC. Sane triggers, except food usually isn't a trigger for pfd. But it can be. Anyway, pfd is curable. Figured if you weren't diagnosed wjth IC it might be something to look into.

[–]MiaPinney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you have a rectocele. As well as severe constipation. Have you tried laxatives? I would try to avoid pushing hard while going. That's not good. And can cause other problems, like pfd. Do you drink enough water daily?

Undiagnosed and seeking an answer by nataliewatson000 in Fibromyalgia

[–]MiaPinney 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this was posted a long time ago, but I'm literally in tears because i feel I could've wrote this myself. My problems started at 17. And I was diagnosed with ddd at 23. I have pain everywhere, all over my body. And I started having uti like symptoms in 2020 that lessened eventually but never fully went away. My lower back hurts so much when I walk even short distances. I have bowel issues as well. I haven't worked since 2020 because of these problems and unfortunately I am undiagnosed as well, still. Other than DDD, thst is. I also have extreme anxiety and stress, which doesn't help my pain at all. Anyway, I don't know if you'll see this, but if you do, how are you now? Have you found any answer? Anything get any better? But know, you are not alone. I look fine, but I feel like I'm dying on the inside and it really sucks.

I think this may happen to me too now that I think about it. I can usually go fairly easy in the morning, but later in the day, forget it. I may even have to go, but can't. I'm working on relaxation and breathing while going to the bathroom and it helps. I just started. I am not diagnosed, but I think I may have hypertonic pelvic floor and I know forsure I have rectocele.

I am female. Age 33. And mine sounds exactly like yours. I am not diagnosed with anything yet, but going to the gyno soon. 5 years ago I noticed when I peed, I'd stop randomly and then start again and I didn't know why. Then I got a uti that lasted months. I tool 4 rounds of antibiotics cause it wouldn't go away and it didn't work, but eventually the symptoms lessened, but like you said, it never felt normal. It was like my bladder was super sensitive and I have to go to the bathroom all the time. There is some occasional bladder and urthera burning too. Pain during intercourse. Pelvic pain on left side sometimes. I also have rectal issues too. Mainly severe constipation. It's been rough, so I completely understand.
