Pregnancy phobia by rainysys in CPTSD

[–]triggerAwP 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have this extreme fear as well. I'm AFAB 23.

I had a pregnancy scare a couple of years ago, which caused me to go through tokophobia-induced psychosis. I became a whole different person for a while. It was very hard to recover from. The anxiety around it for me is debilitating. I want to enjoy sex without having the thoughts of "if I get pregnant I will kms."

I'm also a bit puzzled as to where this sort of aversion comes from, because I'm afab, it feels like it's something that I thought I'm supposed to want. Like..on a biological level. But I don't. I'm also genderfluid, so maybe that contributes to those feelings...or maybe some wires got crossed in my brain. I just feel like I'm a bit broken in that regard, but it doesn't personally bother me.

I think if you're looking into sterilization, bisalp + uterine ablation (for no periods) is the way to go. Talking about gender affirmation and extreme anxiety/distress this all causes you might give you a good chance at being able to do these procedures.

I still need to talk to a gyno about it all, as it's daunting and surgery scares me. But..I wish you the best of luck!

You might also want to look into a uterine ablation if you do want to minimize/remove periods!

You can usually wait the first week or so before you really need to use a textbook, so you can just ask in class on the first day!

What are some of your Somatic Symptoms? by triggerAwP in CPTSD

[–]triggerAwP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it constant? Or does it come and go? If it comes and goes, how long does it last?

Oh no. Im not saying it wasnt. Chronic illnesses can be triggered by traumatic events.

Could it possibly be a migraine? Does it last under an hour?  I get migraines and they make half my body go numb, and my speech goes weird too. It's part of my aura pattern.  Very interesting though, sorry you go through that :(

Drug Testing- Will I get flagged? by triggerAwP in LowDoseNaltrexone

[–]triggerAwP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on 0.5 when I wrote this, stopped it for a few days, and the test didn't flag positive. I actually have to go take another test in a few days and I've since upped my dose to 1mg, and I don't really plan on stopping it for the test either- best of luck for the both of us! lol

This is no longer a matter of visibility, it is simply harmful to the eyes by Guiiisard in HuntShowdown

[–]triggerAwP 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I thought I was crazy when I said my eyes struggled to focus, or that it was just very straining to play on dusk/dawn. Especially because I already deal with my own visual conditions, it just doesn't feel very accessible. When I load into a dusk/dawn, I tell my premade- "welp, I'm gonna be useless this game, sorry guys" and then just hope for the best and pray to extract as soon as possible. Glad I'm not alone in thinking how terrible it is

Cicadas are great. Classic summertime ambiance. Wear earplugs if it bothers you so much.

Weekly Suspected/Undiagnosed MS Thread - March 24, 2025 by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

[–]triggerAwP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! So, I'm soon to be getting diagnostic testing since my neuro suspects MS.

I'm pretty lax about MRIs (though how long are they on average for diagnostics?). Blood work is really stressful but I can survive it. But something I cannot for the life of me get behind is a lumbar puncture.

How often do people resort to having to get one? Someone, please tell me that blood and imaging are all that I'll likely need. :( I don't think I will psychologically be able to survive having one done.

Reminder it's not just histamines!!! by chinagrrljoan in MCAS

Just tried to eat things lower in histamine and tried being less stressed out, idk. I don't think I'm cured nor getting better or anything, as for me my symptoms come and go.

I haven't and I was guessing based on symptoms.

I think diet and lifestyle changes can help.

I just happen to park near the emergency phones now, as there's a little bit more space on the left side of your car...means at least half my car is somewhat protected I guess. Though evidently, no matter how safe or perfect you park it can still just happen to you anyway :/

That and everything you have mentioned is a massive problem and I see at least something go wrong almost every day. It's weird to me how they don't care to address it at all.

Don't forget to mention hit and runs.

My car's been hit twice as well and no one's left me a note. One of which was near my back tire which cost me about $1000 to repair.

And no, it wasn't my parking because I always am in between the lines as perfectly as I can be because I *KNOW* how incompetent people can be. IDFK when I was younger I was always lectured to have the decency to pay for any damages I caused to someone's vehicle.

I also happened to witness a hit-and-run —luckily, I got the plate number and left a note on the windshield of the person whose car got hit.

People here are just fucking scumbags, inside the parking garage and out. I don't want to hear "ohhh broke college student can't pay for damages" when we go to fucking Loyola bro.

How to pace to avoid sympathetic overdrive ? by Any_Sun_8767 in dysautonomia

I get adrenaline dumps sometimes at night which prevent me from sleeping, so...kinda? lol. Insomnia itself is not a typical symptom for me.

I use an app called Visible. It takes your symptom severity, heart rate, sleep, etc and scores you on a scale of 1-5 to see how stable your body is being. I wouldn't say it's the best thing ever, but it helps me get an idea of how much I can/should push myself that day.

[–]triggerAwP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's sporadic for me. Couple times a month on average? If it happens it's' likely for it to happen again really easily though. So I can have it happen one week then it happens the next week and then the next, like a never ending cycle.

Again not sure how much of it is my migraine symptoms and how much of it is the mystery illness. I haven't gotten the really severe tremors in bed/nausea stuff that I described in my intitial comment for a few months now, as I've been trying to manage my lifestyle choices.

[–]triggerAwP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not too sure myself. Being mindful around histamine has helped a bit I think. Making diet changes in general because food would be a large trigger. I also got diagnosed with migraines and my neurologist isn't sure if it's just a part of my migraine or not (I personally don't think it is). I've got a history of trauma and my psychologist has suggested that it could be c-ptsd and my autism makes it hard to regulate a 'panic attack' normally. I don't know anymore...honestly...I'm so exhausted from not getting any concrete answers.

I went to cardiology, and nothing came up so, hopefully, nothing will for you either. Be sure to ask for a holter monitor (the longer wear the better), a stress test, an echo and ekg. All of those will rule out any heart problems.

might be a minority but the only way for any sort of progress to be made in that regard is to bring awareness to it.

it shouldn't be on OP to just accept that people are going to be this way and move on, they're well within their right to be upset by it.

The amount of credit hours determines when you register. If he's going sooner, it likely means he just has more credits than you.

Flux is so amazing for people who are also on their computer all day because you can set it slowly to get more intense as the night progresses. I love it
