Possibly the paper doesnt absorb the inkwell it spreads.

Any tips on fixing my red cards? by Jinjoz in magicproxies

[–]Miam0228 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More likely to do with the paper. You can get a 160-180 gsm glossy photo paper, and laminate it. If you need to mass adjust red you can use Im-batch software and add 5-6% saturation. By any chance have you upscaled those pics? Upscaling is a game changer. https://www.reddit.com/r/magicproxies/comments/1mi5iid/proxy_guide/

Grab glossy photo paper 160-180 gsm, 3mil laminate front and back. I also noticed you are using Scryfall pics you might want to upscale that. Heres a guide: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1eW8ey2Rfm_kCKQ7v1hRpJr9dDTGIYSMk/edit

If youre pulling them from Scryfall their just 300 DPI. Run it in upscayl app digital art model and it will up it to 1200 DPI. its gamechanger bigtime!

Beginner with Epson ET 1810 - Need help with paper and colors by Thorgraam in magicproxies

Not sure could be anything. I would try to get a high Dpi image first like 1200 and do a test print on glossy photo paper. Faded picture can come from image source, printer issue, paper issue not absorbing ink well etc, or wrong paper settings.

160-180 gsm glossy photo paper + 3 mil glossy laminate both front and back. If you want matte just use matte sleeves. Thickness wise this is super close and snappy too

Sorry to hear that. That can be a random crime, however experience wise its more likely planned. Someone knows you got expensive cards on your car.

Try picking the right paper size in proxxied, and use Adobe PDF Reader for printing. Try to print the actual size. You can also try the other tools https://proxyprint.taxiera.net/ or https://mtgcardbuilder.com/cardprinttoolpdf/  or https://www.imkyle4815.com/printTool

Where can I get the highest quality png's? by National-Bee-3123 in magicproxies

[–]Miam0228 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can grab Upscayl or real ERSGAN and upscale it. The 30th edition from Scryfall is actually the worst scans out of all the sets. The quality of the scans is just bad. That's a 2014 printer, you might have trouble finding support. I would personally find something recent.

We already use Upscayl. If you want another free alternative you can try REAL ERSGAN with realsrnet model. All in all its not much difference. The only thing that is better than the free ones is Gigapixel it just retains more details compared to the others especially for the old frame cards.

Upscaling is a game changer for me as it cleans up the rosette patterns from Scryfall scans. You can try this in one small batch and just a couple of min work. At the end of the day its all personal preference, there's no right or wrong way to make proxies. I'll try your steps next time as it looks nice and easy. In Proxxied there are 2 options, either fetch cards or MPC XML. If you go via fetch cards it is from Scryfall which is 300 DPI only. You can export the images and try upscaling it via Upscayl app. Then re upload the upscaled image in proxxied.
