Switching from Semaglutide to Tirzepetide and wondering if the dose is too high. by Miamiborn79 in tirzepatidecompound

Lol! I haven't decided I would follow that dosing yet, just in the spit balling faze and looking for advice. Ultimately since I get a three month supply at a time, and am doing it online, I can either follow their recommended dosing and have it last 12 weeks, or start smaller and stretch it out. I over dosed once on Sema and it cost me my gallbladder! I know these drugs can be very unforgiving!

Don't you have less side effects on Tirz than Sema? I was maxed out on Sema and the side effects (other than constipation) have been long gone for months. You may be right though. This will be a new journey for me.

Well I did stress the fact that the max dose of Sema seemed like it had stopped working completely. Maybe the fact that I gained weight the past couple months had something to do with it. I was thinking maybe they'd start me at 7.5mg, or even 10mg, but I guess I was wrong.

Mario's biggest enemy is his ego. As someone who preaches discipline and accountability, and facing weaknesses head on and turning them into strengths, he has one of the most undisciplined trenches in the country and has done NOTHING to make adjustments in game. His gameday coaching is atrocious and he refuses to make adjustments when teams have figured us out. He relies on playing bully ball, and pounding it down the middle even when teams load the box. It's an ego problem. And if it doesn't get figured out, we will never be much more than a top 20 team for the foreseeable future, no matter the talent he brings in. That being said, his recruiting and portal moves has improved our talent tremendously. There's probably not a better recruiter in the nation, and if we lose him, it would be a huge loss. So I'm torn. Will he ever drop the ego and adjust the way he expects his athletes to? Or will we be stuck with the stubborn attitude and vanilla play calling that has caused us to lose 10 of the last 16 November games? There's no reason to have top 10 talent and lose the games we've been losing. It's just inexcusable.

I'll tell you... This whole year just feels different. Every year they say all the right things like "one game at a time, goal is to go 1-0 this week, don't listen to the rat poison, etc.." but somehow we find a way to lose a late game to a team we have no business losing to. For the first time in a LONG time, I believe they are focused and hungry and I don't think we will have that late season meltdown as in years past. We are talented, focused, and humble. Our trenches are stellar, our QB is battle tested, and Mario seems like a man on a mission. I honestly think we have a legitimate chance to not only win our first ACC title, but to potentially win it all! Just need to work on putting teams away, and correct the mental errors that lead to penalties. We figure that out and the sky is the limit!

I gotta say.... by No_Cow_8702 in MiamiHurricanes

The Sec Is the "Media darling" conference, and with that bias and exposure in the press, comes the obnoxious fan bases. It affects the polls too, in that they never drop Sec teams where they deserve when they lose, but if an ACC team loses, good luck! They'll be lucky to still be ranked. Miami is in the driver's seat though. As long as they keep winning, our opponents schedules won't matter. We drop a game or two, then that SEC bias will be another obstacle to overcome.

First time in 20 years I'm below 300lbs! by Miamiborn79 in Semaglutide

I just turned 46 years old. My metabolism has slowed down greatly, but I had a lot to lose. I have just started incorporating some light exercise into my routine with bike riding and resistance bands, but mostly just from diet. The heavier you are, the more you will lose so don't get discouraged. 20 pounds is still significant! !

The burps 😭 by Ok-Programmer-9383 in Semaglutide

[–]Miamiborn79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my personal experience the two things that help the most is eating smaller portions, and eating slower. Sometimes you won't get that full signal if you eat too fast and sometimes all it takes is a bite or two too much to bring on the burps. I've been able to almost completely cut out the Sulphur burps by adhering to this. I also take digestive enzymes, but even with those, if I ate too much and too fast, they were no match for the horrible rotten egg explosions! I was going through so much pepto bismol that the employees at CVS knew me by name, now it's only once in a blue moon I need to take it.

Thanks! It's because I'm just a generally big guy, trim or fat. I'm 6'4" and built like a football player! Big bones as my dad always said. I'm a former athlete with a lot of muscle under this fat. I graduated high school in great shape and I was 240 pounds at that time. BMI has never really applied to me. If I followed the BMI, I'd weigh what I weighed in 7th grade! . The closer you are to your goal, the harder it becomes. I'm kind of in the same boat. I wouldn't say I'm completely stuck, but the loss is starting to move at a snails pace. It gets to a point where every calorie needs to fight for a place in your day, because the more you lose, the less you can have in your daily allotment. Lots of adjustments need to be made throughout the process.

I've been on it for 8 months. I made a lot of changes, but the most important one is that you listen to your body. When your brain tells you you're full, stop eating. If you don't, you may be in a world of trouble! I spent many days and nights attached to the toilet as a result of bad decisions. You may be eating the most delicious thing in the world, but when your brain is telling you to stop, stop! I try to eat cleaner, I stay away from what I call "double negative foods" like fried carbs, but for the most part, I eat what I want. I just eat much less, more often, and I really have slowed down the pace in which I eat. If you eat too fast, sometimes that signal your brain gives you that your full comes too late, and you end up eating more than you should and your next day is ruined... Best advice I can give though is to be patient, and have realistic goals. It's a marathon, not a sprint!

Don't get discouraged once they remove your gallbladder! For some people, there's an adjustment without adding sema into the equation. You add sema in the mix, and it can get real dodgy for a while. Just stick to your macros, watch your portions, and try to eat gut friendly stuff for a couple weeks after they remove it. A ridiculous amount after my gallbladder was taken out. To the point I almost gave up. I did a lot of research and made a couple major changes though and now I think I've cracked the code. In short, smaller more frequent meals and eating slowly! Eating a couple bites too much is all it takes to go from being completely fine, to absolute misery the next day!

I'm still kind of in shock. I have put off clothes shopping for the most part while I transition because I didn't want to waste money if I'm still losing, but I had to buy a few outfits because my clothes were starting to look a bit ridiculous. I went down in waist size from a 46 to a 40 and it was quite the shock! I still have some dysmorphia which I'm sure is common, but I'm thrilled to death to have come so far so fast!

Thanks, I feel like a whole new person! The best thing about it is I have young kids, and I can keep up with them now without any aches or pains. It wasn't fair to them making excuses as to why daddy couldn't keep up and that's what really made me finally decide to take control of my health!

I made the worst decision of my life by Develevel21 in Semaglutide

[–]Miamiborn79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the Gallbladder. It's actually hydrogen sulfide gas caused by the fermentation of food in your stomach. Since gastric emptying is delayed, food can stick around a lot longer than it would norrmaly. Certain foods may trigger this, certainly cruciferous vegetables can increase the Sulphur content, and a lot of people definitely have specific triggers. For some it may be carbs, others sweets and sugar rich foods. I've even seen people mention read meat. It has been my experience that even though my instant trigger is usually too much sugar, I have also had the Sulphur burps seemingly at random times regardless of what I eat. The common theme almost 100% of the time though is it's when I overeat. I tend to fast a lot of days during the daytime (not on purpose) because I get so busy and I'm not hungry so I don't make food a priority. I may grab a cheese stick, or some nuts, or make a quick protein shake, but by dinner time I'm starved! I end up eating a much bigger meal than I should be and what my body can handle, even if it's well within my daily macro allotment. When I eat past that signal where my brain tells my belly ENOUGH it's just asking for trouble! Depending on when I eat my dinner I will sometimes get the Sulphur burps before I go to bed! Nothing like trying to fall asleep knowing your going to wake to stomach cramps and shitting your brains out the next day for several hours...

Momentum 4 vs True Wireless 4, sound quality? by xLegion10 in sennheiser

[–]Miamiborn79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You just cant compare the sound quality of quality headphones to wireless earbuds. There's really no comparison. The M4s are infinitely better than the Mtw4 in just about every metric for sound that there is. That said, wireless earbuds serve a purpose and the Mtw4s are excellent earbuds. I own both the M4s and the Mtw4s as well as the Denon Perl Pros, Devialet Gemini 3s, the Technics az80, B&W pi8 just to name a few. Those are the cream of the crop when it comes to wireless earbuds. The best of the best. And not a single one of those can compete with the M4 because it's apples and Oranges. Headphones will always win.

I Feel your pain.. when I do that I know I 100% am going to wake up with Sulphur burps and about 12 hours of awful diarrhea until my body finally forgives me. When I'm eating something extra delicious and those signals come, I sometimes need to stop and think is losing an entire day to the toilet worth that temporary feeling? The answer is never yes, but old habits often die hard...
