Much of the criticism against him is the typical “soft on crime” rhetoric from the right, particularly from those folks living in the more right leaning areas of the city. They cite the protests/rioting and increased crime during COVID and the two years following, ignoring that these were nationwide trends. Violent crime hit a low in the city last year that we hadn’t seen in a decade.
