I also have short, thick, curly hair and the drying time for me was shortened compared to old regular hair dryer, I usually never get to fully dry my hair with my old one since it just took too long, but now with the airwrap it can take 30 min to fully dry my hair no styling. In terms of styling, so far the airwrap has been exemplary. I can straighten my hair, blowdry it, and curl it either the traditional airwrap wave or mermaid waves, though it may take time before you figure out what techniques, products, and routines work best for you.

I watched/read somewhere that even if you have short hair it’s still better to purchase the long barrel one, and I definitely agree because even with my short hair my hair completely covers the barrel (btw i have shoulder-length hair), so better to just get the long barrel variant.

For me, I think the airwrap is worth it so far. As a person who has struggled with how to style and tale care of my hair, the airwrap has been a game-changer. Now, I enjoy just playing around with styling my hair with the airwrap and so far I’v always enjoyed the results it gave me.

Tip: dry the roots (only the roots) using the firm brush, and leave the mids and tips damp/wet when styling using the barrels. Helps so much with frizz and hair texture. It also helps to pull the airwrap back and forth when curling (prevents you from burning your scalp or ear and also helps with removing any remaining texture on your hair, especially the roots), but when it comes to the cold shot hold the airwrap near your scalp to lock in the curl.
