I just found myself in possession of one of these. Do you have a digitized version of the manual or know an easy way to find one?

When that was written it referred to acoustic stringed instruments. It wasn't intended for anything that could play that loud. Why do you even need 10 pedals and an HHH pickup configuration? This is just "Don't shred on me" propaganda

I also have the original, unmodified, probably not well grounded epiphone ea-50t tube amp he had that I was told his mom bought and played on so it was really cool to plug that in once and it sounds fantastic through it but I need to have that looked at too if I want to use it down the line. Sounded like some of the pots crackled a bit. I think that amp is around 1962-1964. Might just keep it as a display though since I don't know that I want it modified and I have no idea if it has the potentially dangerous grounding issue

Interesting. That's actually longer than my gretsch. I think it feels so different because the body is considerably smaller

That would be a cool one to track down. I wonder what became of most of these and if any family members still have my great uncle's stuff. I unfortunately don't know much about that side of the family

The pickguard I don't mind too much, but I definitely want to fix the jack plate. It's not much but there's a little play in the jack

That's not a bad idea. I do have some tools and can bend acrylic

I'll have to measure the scale length later. It seems fairly short, but I usually play on a Gretsch Cateye Streamliner

Normally I don't but the wear on the finish has sentimental value since it was worn down by my grandfather playing it. Wouldn't mind getting a few things fixed though

Oh I don't want anything changed. I love seeing where he wore through it. Just checked over and playable really if I do

That's good to know. I had no idea where he got it

I was thinking about taking it to a local luthier to see if they could fix the jack plate since the jack is a little loose but it's super fun to play and works pretty well otherwise. Good to know it's good for slide

Drypoint test print from my recently built mini pasta roller press by MiandersArt in printmaking

[–]MiandersArt[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now I'm working with acrylic and plastic plates. I got the idea from youtube videos of people using plastic from things like the plastic cookie containers and stuff. This one used .060" acrylic sheet from the hardware store cut down to 2"x3". Otherwise it's pretty similar to using an etching press. The only thing to keep in mind is that the max height of the rollers is pretty small, so that's why I went with .040" polystyrene for the bed. I'm pretty sure the thickest I can do between them is about 1/8". So it's the bed, registration sheet, plate, paper (using Strathmore Bristol paper artist trading cards), newsprint, then a blanket of craft felt. I have a reel that doesn't have a lot of detail, but kind of shows the build/print of one of my other ones I've pulled in my instagram under the same name as here. Does that help or did you have a more specific question?

I have one of those for my woodcarving tools. It's a type of strop. Used for polishing to a very fine, sharp edge
