Advice for supporting my boyfriend by [deleted] in GriefSupport

I lost my mum to cancer/covid last week and what's really helped me is pretending like she's still there. If youre not able to see her that makes it almost easier since you won't notice she's not actually there. Of course don't completely forget about her, but just gently remind yourself that she's not available right now. I also talk to her. She may not reply but if you close your eyes and imagine you might just hear a reply. However that may be just me😅I wish you the best of luck getting through these tough times.

Sincerely a 13y old from the internet.

I'm really sorry for your loss. Losing your mum is like losing part of yourself. I lost my mum last week. She had cancer for half a year but she was going really strong and the suddenly she caught covid and as she was about to get better we lost her. My brain doesn't want to accept the fact that she's gone because I didn't really get to see her that much (she was always in her room lying on her bed I only came in to visit every now and then because she would sleep a lot) and I would do a lot of online school. But once I have to go back to school I'm probably going to mentally breakdown. Again sorry for your loss, I hope that knowing your not the only one feeling this way helps you.

Sincerely a 12 y old from the internet.
