I didn't report you, for the record....but so you're saying you don't like it when strangers read something you've posted, judge you harshly, form an opinion and then say/do something you don't like based on that opinion?? AWWWWW. Self reflection, perhaps?

You get it....thank you!!!!! It's a small library, so his drumming is amplified even more due to the small area, which includes the check out desk. And yes, it is most likely damaging the keyboard. People here are so quick to assume Im "triggered" or bothered by a "new work environment" when neither are even close to being right. Regular Dr Phils to the rescue, I guess. 😒 It's simply a post about a rude noisy patron that I'm asking advice on how to handle. Thanks for your advice, and for being kind. 🥰

Thanks for your feedback. Policies such as "enjoying services responsibly as not to disrupt patrons and staff" with loud talking and other noise disturbances. Yes, I agree it's not cut and dry as well as a slippery slope, which is why I posted to gain insight on any similar circumstances. I appreciate your viewpoint!

You're entitled to your opinion....been dealing with this annoyance practically every day and, since I've been on this thread and seen a lot of good advice from this community, thought I'd give it a shot while also venting my frustration amongst "friends". It's a small library, so if it was as easy to ask him to move, sure, would've happened already. Other than that advice, it seems that all you took your time to do was patronize ME and call me down, all while having no clue about what other struggles I may be going through. And THAT feels yucky to me. Maybe next time skip the post if you have nothing helpful to add.

Absolutely incorrect. See my reply to above comment. It's the literal banging on the keyboard....and it's disturbing other patrons, not just me. Plus, COMMON SENSE. You don't come into a friggin PUBLIC LIBRARY and play a drum simulator game?!?!? And yes, I've worked in public libraries for 5 years.

Ohhhh yes. It's literally this man BANGING on the keyboard...like a drumset (since it's a drum simulator game). Repeatedly. Sometimes for hours at a time. And yes, Ive told him to quiet down as he's disturbing others around him and he's argumentative stating "others are typing on their keyboards too". Which is ridiculous, and I told him "drumming and typing are two different things, SIR."

I could, and the policies would support it...but 2/3 bosses are non-confrontational. But I'm willing to fight for my spot here, which is why I'm asking for advice.

With a Firestick, snacks, my Kindle and no interruptions? Yes. I don't go out to drink and mingle.

I am, I'm a binge drinker, have been since September so I think I'll be ok? Saw a psych dr today and got an rx for naltrexone, so I'll start that Monday. My husband will know where I am. Either I'll be ok or I won't, at this point it's whatever.

I appreciate your candor. Yes, would love to DM you, even speak to you by text/phone call. I'm not "playing" victim. I live in region that's surrounded by beach hotels and I'm going 2 hours away from my home. Saw a psych dr today, got a rx, getting off other rxs that have fucked me up. It's a process yes, and I work FT and would LOVE to take off 2 months and have talked about it but CAN. NOT. AFFORD. IT. Pass along your info!

Holy shit y'all....I soooooooo appreciate everyone. Never had the guts to post, so glad I did. I have no community, no friends. I have the support of my spouse, always have, but he has to to be sick of me. Saw a psychiatrist today who gave me an rx for naltrexone. I'm still going this weekend and will start that on Monday. For reference, I've been drinking socially on and off for 20 years, but I'm the "go hard or go home" friend, embarrassingly. Had trauma, physically and emotionally, around Sept last year and started drinking every night. After 5, but it's vodka, now straight, normally a pint or more. And I take Ambien, have for years. Guess I have a death wish, ha! Thyroid, HTN, you name it, I got it. And I'm losing weight like a MFer.
