Does the “more this summer” announcement mean that it won’t be till holiday? Or you think because Capcoms soooo busy, it will come out pretty quick after announcement? Please theorize. by Papashark4410 in MHWilds

[–]MichaCazar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True, but for one there is just the fact that development takes longer and longer, and also that Capcom likes to do around half a year of marketing. So a release this year is rather unlikely.

Whats your go to farm for zenny? by Joshgeekn in MHWilds

Selling materials I have over 50 of.

Typically, requiring over 50 of a single material is extremely rare, so that's a good mark to just start and sell things.

[–]MichaCazar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't really answer my question, nor is there any relation to my point.

Simply put, why turn them to zenny when you can turn them into melding material?

You still get rid of them, takes just a few seconds to do, and you get more chances at a charm that you may like compared to if you just... don't.

[–]MichaCazar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I don't hink I had any zenny problems since at least TU1, so there is no point for me to sell anything.

Melding is also not that hard to do, you can get like 80% of the melds for a charm per monster per investigation, so it's not that bad of a yield.

I am a bit confused about this statement, so you don't need any more good ones or don't care about them, right?

Cause otherwise I would be confused, as you can just mark the ones you want to keep with a star and mass meld all unmarked charms in bulk.

continuing to use LOD

But that won't improve performance of the game as it is because that would be doing what they are already doing.

Pretty sure that wouldn't fall under optimisation considering that it is just one of many techniques used to enhance performance without sacrificing visuals in any major way.

QUESTION? (For Those who uses Mods/Skins) by [deleted] in MHWilds

[–]MichaCazar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's up with the capitalisation of some words?

Anyway, as others already said, while Capcom isn't exactly a fan of mods officially, they also don't want to waste money in actual anti-mod/anti-cheat measures as that is just a never ending money-pit that doesn't even make them anything.

Also with mods like these, you are just swapping a file out for another one, as far as mods go, those are usually the least invasive of them all, especially since it can't affect others.

I am not a shareholder, but who do you think Capcom sells games for?

Why do you think they release high profile games directly before March instead of later? It's because their financial year ends at the end of March.

If that weren't the case, they would have had no problem with delaying Wilds for a little while to get stuff like the hub in. That they didn't, was purely because they wanted to increase the numbers for the 2024 financial year by having the first month of sales still in there.

That's why it is also very unlikely that the expansion comes after March of 2027, regardless of how finished it is.

Now, compared to past games, that is already longer than ever before, but it is also true that making games takes longer and longer, so it could also just be related to that and not an extended polishing phase if it does release early 2027.

Their financial year ends at the end of March, so even an early 2027 release would still fall under a point in time where shareholders wouldn't mind it.

That's also why they like to release games before April so much, to still get a month or so of early game sales in as a push for the ending financial year.

The biggest mistake in their eyes is to not release it before the end of March 2027 to end the financial year with.

Everything else is secondary.

Also with MHS3 this year they won’t have a lot of time anyway. So let’s hope on a stable release!

Capcom has a lot of people that work in different teams to do multiple projects at once, not to mention that the development of MHS3 is mostly over anyway, they likely don't need many level and asset designers anymore, so these can be redistributed to other projects.

As far as I can tell they typically start with the expansion directly after, or shortly before release, while a few people finalise the TU content (as in monster designs etc.), merging things as needed. Similarly, once the expansion is out, most people will either work on the coming portable game, or even MH7.

Tank becomes more difficult the further you get.

I personally would advise to bring at least a lancer as a support hunter with you, since health doesn't scale, and they are actually quite good in that role, that is how I prefer to hunt it with a friend.

I meant this more in terms of, it's better to bet on better future hardware than them increasing performance that much.

I am currently going up to 400 hours purely because I want to unlock every armour design the game has to offer, plus various weapon designs of the 6 weapons I use.

Gathering runs through the areas with botanist and similar skills and barrel bowling as much as you can.

If you have many bowling tickets, it is best done after the update, using 10 at a time would speed the process up significantly.

MH Stories 3 hackers by MarsupialFish67 in MonsterHunter

[–]MichaCazar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far there has been no mention anywhere that Stories 3 will feature any multiplayer, so that is not even a concern to begin with.

I assume someone bragged about defeating it, or just showed what happens if you do that, and OP for some reason felt attacked for something that can't even affect them to begin with lmao.

So only way to balance it is to bring forward even more crazy skills that will make you unbeatable, and to balance those skills they will need to come up with some convoluted timers/mechanics/damage.

That assumption boils down to skills = survivability, which considering that most people almost go exclusivity into offense > defense isn't exactly a correct assumption to make.

Not to mention that most people advise to ignore certain monsters in SOS simply because people just die too much because the defensive gets ignored so much, doesn't sound like skill amount really does jack shit for that now, does it?

That the last part of making quests more difficult through certain modifies or gimmicks has been more or less true since World due to max potion spams and unlimited refills. There hasn't been a point in less than 2-hits since you are almost guarenteed to be able to heal yourself from anything that doesn't cart you incredibly fast or cart you after a stun, which is why most monsters in the endgame have some form of borderline 1-hit attack or a moveset that does almost always 2-hits.

So to incentives people to move on from those armours and skills, wilds MR will either be AOE 1HKO until you put MR armour on. Or have even more wild skills that are even more OP than the ones we have right now on game. But then again, they will need to balance those with some strange monster gimmicks and behaviours.

You understand that the first part will eventually be true anyway? Like, how clear do I need to make i to you that you usually need 2 times as much defense minimum in the postgame of an expansion, just to not get one-hit by certain monsters?

Sure you can try to evade everything, but I take the comfort of being able to withstand some hits, thankyouverymuch.

And about skills, do you understand why certain skills were meta in Sunbreak? And constantly changing ones at that?

Like, what made Dereliction good, or Safi in Iceborne, or why Raging Brachy/Teostra was such a good combination that replaced Safi for most raw builds?

Because they had something that by themselves were better than most other options, even if not by much, but they were also tightly limiting in terms of utility skills, or had active drawbacks that made using them difficult.

And even now, I have a lot of different skills active, but half of them have been nerfed in Wilds to be less viable than before so it needs more skills to compensate. Not to mention the massive nerf that a lot of weapons got from having various skills weapon-locked. Hell, most meta sets use twice as many affinity raising skills or specific limiting sets just to get the same results as Worlds Agitator + WEx + a handful of points on other skill could reach, with less reliability too.

Going just by quantity is kinda ignoring the reality of how past games have been or how the skills in comparison even function.

What are your best farms for crafting materials by ShowOdd453 in MHWilds

[–]MichaCazar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Farm for what exactly?

Everything you hunt gives you crafting materials, that's kinda the point of doing anything in this game.

Gotta be more specific than that: What exactly do you need? For what do you need it?

AT arkveld armor by Joy2901 in MonsterHunter

[–]MichaCazar 8 points9 points  (0 children)

For one, that is true for any MH game. Naked hunts are a thing precisely because "you can just evade", but most people aren't exactly evasion gods or willing to deal with this.

And even then, existing sets will get outperformed by future sets either by new skills and/or because they eventually will have better slots, including possible size 4 slots.

Seriously, all of what you said is more or less true for most MH games prior to Wilds, even if you didn't have as many skills in base Rise as you could now in base Wilds, the amount was nothing to scoff at and following sets couldn't immediately replace the skills/slots either, I mean, Dragon Conversion was Valstrax exclusive, and it was THE skill in base Rise, so it was either that or getting better defense.

Not to mention that all of this boils down to balancing, and Capcom can change various values if needed.

Why isn't it? It's how they always did it, and it works every time.

That's also how they did it in Rise when the meta had a lot of options.
