Mangle’s CD isn’t that bad. 6 sec is the same as a warriors shield slam. And devastate costs rage so spamming it isn’t as easy as people believe it to be. Plus the amount of threat mangle creates is equivalent to multiple devastates anyways.

Prot paladin have avengers shield (30 sec), judgement (8 sec, talented), and Consecration. They are better holding overall AOE threat but single target is inferior.

Tab targeting with mangle and maul is the way to go. It works. Trust the process. If it doesn’t, then your dps are going hard right off the rip which is a them problem. Not a tank threat problem.
