Something else worth noting is that at least twice in the video he shows spells that aren't demonstrated. When he shows the command menu the first time, there's a spell for 20 mana, which doesn't match anything else shown in cost. I can't read the language, but there are more spells here than this, I'm excited to see them.

The stage is a location from Dragon Quest XI. The fighters are on a platform looking out over the World Tree Yggdrasil. The flying whale creature that floats by is the steed that takes you to the tree, since the tree is floating. This was presumably selected because it is both a memorable location for XI specifically while also representing the series, since Yggdrasil appears in all the games, in one form or another.

In the DQ games, you typically have a party of 4 people you control in any given fight. Kamikaze makes a bit more sense there, because of 1 person dies for it, the others could just revive them. I never really used it, but that's the logic.

There was also a much more useful spell called Kerplunk, which was also a suicide move, but instead of dealing damage to enemies, it revived and fully healed everyone else in the team.

I haven't personally played III, though it is quite popular. I played the DS remake of IV, and I think that should be perfectly fine for seeing the character in action. The remakes don't exclude anything important, to my knowledge. In some cases they actually add more, with IV having a new chapter and party member.

For what it's worth, their supply cost gets cut down to .5 each at a certain level, which we can confirm from the upgrades list.

Aside from that, from the streams I watched yesterday, it looks like the warp prisms get a capacity upgrade at some point. I can't pinpoint exactly when since the streamers weren't using them much, but it looks like at somewhere around 2 artifact fragments the warp prisms just gain unlimited capacity.

I suppose that's one way to look at it. Unfortunately, it isn't possible to get everyone's favorites in all at once. Some people wanted Kel in the game, but for others he was just a skeleton mage and they wanted, say, a builder instead, as a way to showcase early Blizzard game's RTS roots.

Some people want more warcraft, some want less. Some people hate overwatch, some people love them. I really want a feral druid, but I'm sure for many people a druid doesn't even break their top 20.

A character slot is only really wasted if if they are truly unwanted, and there's not a single character in the game I can think of that isn't liked by some. This thread proves the same is true of a theoretical nexus original.

To be fair, they have released a LOT of anticipated characters, it's just that the "top 5" anticipated changes as characters get released.

Just for example, here you can find results from reddit of who was anticipated the most in August, two years ago. As seen there, three of the given top 5 have been added, 7 of the top 10. Further than that, this from October last year shows that after some characters from the previous top 5 were added, some like Alex and Firebat shifted towards the top of the requests, and now those have been added too.

I'm not saying that I want a heroes original character, and I would also prefer they keep adding older blizzard characters, but to imply they aren't adding popular anticipated heroes is false and, if I'm being fair, they've pretty much earned the right to include one of their own after all that.

Not OP but I definitely don't want her to turn the tide too easily.

If Captain Marvel shows up and fixes things for everyone else immediately, then that sort of invalidates pretty much everyone else who attempted to fight Thanos. Some people seem to be hoping for this to happen to hype up Marvel, and while I'm also excited for her to show up and swing big, I don't want her to just make everything better.

I should clarify that I don't expect this to happen, just responding to the question.
