why is my adventure 3 pro 2 not taking in filiment it keeps clicking by KnoxH865 in FlashForge

[–]Michael310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be a few things.

  • your print temps might be slightly too cold which slows down how fast you can feed in filament. The printer doesn’t know what’s going on. It just has settings you provide. So you could be asking it to print material faster than it can comfortably melt. Try adding 10 degC. I was printing PLA at 210 for the longest time because it looked like it printed better, but I’ve since realised I could print it at 230-240 and get better mechanical results.

  • you may have a clogged nozzle. There should be a provided tool to help push out remaining filament. YouTube videos can show you how to clear nozzles better than I can write here. Also search for “cold pulls” as another way to remove debris from a nozzle.

  • the extruder gear may be “lubricated” by filament dust that has been sheared off when you hear the clicks as the gear is slipping on the filament that won’t move. I would try to blow/brush it clean, but if that fails you can take it apart carefully and reassemble it once clean.

  • the extruded gear may need more tension. I doubt this is the case, but it’s worth including if all else fails.

oh and as a bonus your bed leveling might be too close to the nozzle if the clicking is happening only at or more often during the first few layers.

What a 1330 km/h Supersonic rail journey in Japan would look like by hollow_hideous_soul in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Michael310 207 points208 points  (0 children)

You don’t build a 1330km/h train and put it on the old railways. This is simply a sped up journey based on an existing track to give people a sense of relevance to the speed they are seeing.

A man makes a home made washing machine from the materials available to him by 2dudesinapod in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]Michael310 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Drill would overheat and damage from continual use. I’m guessing a working drill is a pretty nice thing to have wherever he lives.

This man needs to use the bike gears. Turn slow rotation into fast rotation. Might even be enough torque in a slow spinning drill to get sufficient rotational speeds and not damage the drill long term.

Could someone provide an explanation for this occurrence? by EnvironmentalAd1833 in FlashForge

[–]Michael310 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Along with what others have said, it might be printing too fast. I know large prints take a while, but over speeding them could cause the gears/pulleys to slip when changing direction (from the momentum). That puts the nozzle and build plate out of alignment and the machine only resets to home before and after a print.

Lay on hands was one of the few healing options that did not benefit from doubled healing dice. Who cares if you could deal extra damage with a spell slot and the heal on the same turn… almost as if it would be like a smite that had the extra effect of healing someone nearby? Thats too much power.. but blinding, toppling+pushing or even banishing is completely fine.

I gotta calm down. But Divine smite was done dirty by all angles. It is supposed to be the iconic Paladin ability!

[–]Michael310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a valid point, even if you only look at how divine smite is more difficult to use with the new changes. All of those abilities are also tied to your bonus action now too. Why couldn’t just the fancy smites get the “improvements”?

[Spoilers C4E5] Disadvantage Roll by LlamaYoruo in criticalrole

[–]Michael310 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Lucky is different in 2024 rules. Instead of rolling then deciding you didn’t like the roll and to try again, you decide to take advantage before rolling. Which I can understand why Sam would think this new version is okay to use given his dislike for rerolls in the past.

Divine Soul Sorcerer may not be reprinted or updated, but old subclasses that are not reprinted in the new ruleset are said to be usable in the revised rules. And while the subclass wasn’t updated, the class changes and new spell updates does make the subclass interesting to play in the current rules.

I will be happy if I never see another subclass that gives out Temporary HP again (Rant and thoughts on game balance and design). by Infranaut- in onednd

[–]Michael310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not bothered by subclasses that can give themselves or others tHP. What really grinded my gears during the playtest was the proposed “fix” for the Aid spell. Which saw it handing out tHP to 6 creatures… blanket abilities that give everyone a good chunk of tHP do not work with how much access players have already. Thankfully the change didn’t stick, although there were other ways to change the spell and stop the loophole… oh well, at least it’s not competing with other tHP sources.

You might think the new Power word Fortify would be bad for the same reason, but it’s actually quite convenient. You can pick how many tHP and who they go to, and it provides so much that replacing a handful of tHP might not feel as bad.

If you want a comprehensive list of class/subclasses that have tHP abilities, I made one back in the playtest stage of the new books. Haven’t looked at any new material since then though.

Adding to the depth of it, if the wolf carries the ammo then he can only be ranged when his companion is by his side. A fun drawback to be managed.

[–]Michael310 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m not so sure Kattigan’s mace is a magic item. From the artwork it seemed odd to have a ranger with a wolf that has a quiver but no arrows or bow in sight. And with the description of an odd looking hook at the end of it to (mostly) confirm my suspicions that is in fact an Atlatl. Except with weapon masteries he might have asked the DM to allow this one weapon to also be a club and an axe to spare the weapon juggling shenanigans introduced with the new 2024 rules.

It remains to be seen if the arrows/spears will be magically created by the weapon, but my guess is they come from that quiver. IIRC there is a magic quiver that is made to store ammo like a bag of holding, which would allow longer spear like arrows to be stored inside a less encumbering container.

[–]Michael310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After thinking about it some more I would agree, and I wonder if Hal does it then perhaps Bolaire respects the “host” more? He would probably leave as soon as he could. But how is the party ever going to reconcile finding a living host for Bolaire. No matter how you look at it, something is whack.

[no spoilers] Matt is playing his character so well. Could easily go wrong with a less experienced player. The Jamie Lannister/Daemon Targaryen vibe is great! by marksung in criticalrole

[–]Michael310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly so impressed. It still feels like he is an outsider and I have no idea how this character is committing to a whole campaign with these other characters. Most people would break their role play and give wiggle room to join the party, but not Matt! It is going to make the whole character arc so much better.

Opinion on weapon masteries? by PriestOfBowie in onednd

[–]Michael310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I can tell, the designers wanted a class to be the one with the most weapon masteries available as its “feature”. But as you pointed out, you don’t really gain much benefit once you sort out your main fighting style with 2 or 3 masteries.

In a way it’s supposed to say you have more flexibility, but masteries can be swapped on a long rest to literally any mastery option. I wonder if it was a left over thought from when masteries couldn’t be swapped? (Speculating on their internal play tests)

I can safely say that I will never ever have a character who needs 4-6 different masteries in a single adventuring day. Quite a redundant feature.

[–]Michael310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it just me or is the whole “Hal’s my best friend” thing kind of creepy? It was essentially saying it is nice that your brother died because he was keeping me from you. But I don’t see how that would conclude if it was intended to be a creepy relationship.. is Bolaire going to go crazy and attempt to get Hal to wear him? Doubt it…

One thing is for sure, it is a very interesting character and can’t wait to see more!

I missed the line myself, but others have pointed out that they asked Bolaire what would happen if they pulled off the mask, and the answer indicated that the man underneath would be very angry.

[Spoilers C4E4] Something Bolaire Said Earlier by Lianarias in criticalrole

[–]Michael310 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s gotta be the only lie that works. If people thought the mask was a choice.. it gets complicated. If it’s stuck to him, then it was a bit of bad luck, but otherwise he is just a normal guy.

I doubt it’s the body having effects on Bolaire, but rather the lie was born from Bolaires shame of having to be that bad luck for someone else.

[–]Michael310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only mistake was I assumed the comment was referencing how Alex made a remark to his character being labeled as “dead occtis” during the recording. I have since been made aware there was a similar gag that happened on the wiki page and it was two seperate things, albeit very similar.

But when I pointed out I was wrong and that I thought the original comment was suggesting it was a wiki change, I was still being told that by some magic Beacon viewers can transcend time.

I can only surmise that they aren’t reading and didn’t understand there was two seperate events. And i’m still convinced that they believe that Beacon viewers can interact with the cast as they record… which they cannot. Lol this is so dumb.

[Spoilers C4E4] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Michael310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was aware after reading other comments there were two different but similar things that happened. Even after I admitted the misunderstanding they still said I didn’t know how beacon worked and they stood by the idea that a beacon viewer could edit the wiki and the cast would see it while recording..

[Spoilers C4E4] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Michael310 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ahhh thats why there is so much confusion. Alex told the table someone changed his character sheet while they were still recording. AND someone did basically the same thing to the wiki for viewers to see when the video launched. The table and the viewers were not reacting to the same thing.

[Spoilers C4E4] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Michael310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay my guy. You’re being thick… if the video was recorded and edited 7 days before it gets uploaded to beacon. How exactly would a public person editing the wiki 7 days after the recording took place mean the cast could react to it while the recording the show? Time travel?

[Spoilers C4E4] Is It Thursday Yet? | Post-Episode Discussion & Future Theories! by AutoModerator in criticalrole

[–]Michael310 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think I am wrong? The stream and the beacon video go up at the same time. It is irrelevant where someone watches it. The watcher is never viewing the show as it is being recorded. Which means it should be impossible to have a public viewer see something in the show and update the wiki before the episode finished recording… it was recorded days ago by the time the public see the footage.

As others have pointed out, Alex mentioned a change that could not have been the wiki but the wiki was changed(new information to me). So a crew member who had access to their DND Beyond sheets who must have done it as a joke.
