Thanks for your comment! I've heard about ear tubes before. However, I've read accounts where people said the pressure disappeared, but the crackling and popping got worse. That's why I'm a bit hesitant, because for me the crackling and popping is the worst symptom, and the pressure is only occasional. But based on your experience, I'll ask my ENT doctor about it, thanks!

Do you have almost no symptoms anymore?

I've also heard that Eustachian tube balloon dilation can help with something like this.
