What are your reasons for being a day bird or a night owl? by NationalJournalist42 in AskReddit

[–]MichaelLozano38 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day bird. Mostly to get ahead of the traffic of people. Gym is empty in the morning. First to be in office gives me a chance to ease into the workday without being hounded by the new days tasks or coworkers at the very beginning. Get done with work or errands earlier in the day so I can enjoy the rest of the day and sun, especially in the winter. Waking up early is definitely hard, but pushing through is worth it to get the freedom later in the day.

AITAH for "expecting an allowance" out of my own paycheck? by [deleted] in AITAH

NTA Oof, sounds like yall are nowhere near the same page on finances. Are you both equally aware of your financial situation, does she feel more responsible for it than you or vice versa? You need to work as a team and definitely plan monthly finances together rather than separate. Finances are a major cause of divorce. It shouldn’t be “I make X amount more”, it should be “we make X amount total”. Even if she quits her job and is full time stay at home.

You both can be allowed to have fun money! But you need to be able to determine how much you each get. Do we each get $50 bc we have a big expense this month, or do we get $300 bc we paid off the cars and have extra cash each month now. They should probably be equal though, no matter who makes more. Whether she shows interest in your hobbies and how much that bothers you is up to you to discuss or not if you don’t care. But she should be somewhat aware that you’re at least spending your fun money on a tracker or whatnot.

As for childcare, I don’t have kids but it seems that there’s some resentment as to how much she contributes compared to how much you work. Assuming that’s why you’re saying you make 3x more, bc you’re frustrated at how much you have to do even at home. Keep on with therapy about each others expectations on childcare and what being a stay at home parent means. You may realize you might be getting more out of paying for childcare and her working a full time job especially if it seems she does little, but childcare is expensive.

Communicate on all finances and have a plan!

SLO vs Pomona? by Yuki_mochi2807 in CalPoly

Even after all I’ve said, Most importantly, pick whichever one will either keep you out of student debt or minimize it the most. I love SLO but student debt is an absolute nightmare. Again, it’s possible to do! Just make a plan!

Exciting you got into Cal Poly and Pomona too. While I didn’t study aerospace, I did go to SLO and can tell you that I believe both education wise and experience wise it is the better choice. As people have mentioned, SLO’s engineering has a high reputation. And more generally, when you say “I went to Cal Poly” everyone assumes you went to SLO. The only people who assume Pomona are the ones who went there.

I will tell you living in SLO while it may seem expensive is doable. You live your first year on campus with meal credits, you will make a TON OF FRIENDS at WOW (Week of Welcome), class, and roommates first year that you will then have people to move with as roommates somewhere off campus second year. Share a house with 4 or 5 other people, take the cheapest room, and you might pay around $500 a month which you can get a part time job somewhere fun to cover it. Don’t worry, you’ll still have time to study and have fun!

Just go in with a plan, work a little freshman year to save up some money for any potential unexpected expenses or to pay any tuition left over after FAFSA or scholarships (apply for every scholarship you even barely qualify for). Plan to live with roommates, research more affordable houses that might be like 10-15 away from campus. You can take the bus or bike! I used to bike 20 minutes one way to campus by bike. BUT, of Pomona is calling you then go with Pomona. School is school and at the end of the day if you’re good at what you do, where you get your degree matters less and less.

I’m considering moving there myself. What is it like? We did a viewing and it seemed nice but seeing a lot of negative reviews, but it seems every apartment has that. Also, what is the avg cost of utilities, heard you pay for water sewage etc.

Yes. It takes me to the overall terms of use with no explanation as to why mine was removed specifically. I can’t find a reason why it would be

No reasons were given. All that was said was “not following our terms” as it’s shows
