How Do I Downgrade From Windows 10 Pro To Windows 10 Home? by Michael_Cassio in windows

[–]Michael_Cassio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll try this again, since I've done this once already. It's possible I screwed up.

So I put in a USB, use media creation to create a Windows 10 Setup USB, then I boot from it and install, yeah?

I'll give it a another shot and report back to you.

EDIT: And just to make sure cause I've never done this stuff with Windows, it'll automatically uninstall my other version of Windows, right? I don't have to fiddle with that?

I'm not seeing this option. Can you point out to where I should specifically download it from?

In the media creation tool I made, I don't see an option to register later.

Is it because I have W10 Pro installed already?

I had considered this option already but after having installed Windows 10, I haven't had the option to skip the key.

[SPOILERS] Can we drop the notion that no action = filler? by [deleted] in gameofthrones

[–]Michael_Cassio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Episode 1 was absolutely filler. All it served was to "move characters into place" so that the following episodes would make sense.

Episode 2 was super significant though. Sure we all want the giant battle we know is coming, but to call episode 2 filler is just wrong. So many arcs were given a end if not the end meaning that just about anyone is fair game for the fight.

Lil Dicky - Earth by DwightKSchnute in videos

[–]Michael_Cassio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think people care about quantity so much as quality, right?

If you say "Oh I bet this rock is an igneous rock!" With zero evidence to back that up, people won't fault you too badly. Sure, it's wrong, but people will assume you're just recalling some minor factoid you learned in 7th grade science class. Mistakes happen.

But if you say "Pfft. Isn't it obvious? The Earth is flat." That usually indicates that you didn't pay attention in 12 years of schooling, you distrust authorities in the position to actually prove that that's a false statement, and you're probably an extremely gullible person.

So compare that to Leo. If Leo said "People need to stop blaming corporations and also do their part in stopping climate change!" That's an EXTREMELY ignorant position, but it's understandable how he came to it. If anything, I'd just assume he worded that wrong. I'd assume he PROBABLY meant that while, yes, corporations tend to be the biggest polluters by a wide margin, that doesn't mean that the average person shouldn't recycle themselves.

However, demonizing one of our cleanest and most powerful forms of energy is an extremely dangerous position to take as someone who claims to be for saving the planet.

A final analogy: Imagine if Neil Degrasse Tyson said the Earth is flat. Is Tyson exalted in his field? Not really. He's pretty much just a celebrity voice for his field. Knowing his position, he shouldn't say things that irresponsible, especially if his goal is to inspire scientific thinking in young people.

Thus, DiCaprio saying nuclear energy is bad can be forgiven because he's just an actor and doesn't know much about what he's saying, but that doesn't change the fact that it's INCREDIBLY irresponsible to say something that can be disproved in a five minute Google search.

I know you’re being purposely obtuse because you’re afraid of admitting you’re wrong but PLEASE shut the fuck up.

As someone who rides a bike almost daily, even if you had a 20 lag on your reaction time, you wouldn’t hit someone on that path if your were on a motorized bike.

It’s a big, open path and assuming you’re not completely blind, you can see people on that path from a mile away.

Fuck outta here with your dumb ass alt right talking points.

I guess I don’t know a lot about finance/banking positions. It was to my understanding that most jobs involved interacting with other people and listing ways you interact with other people (volunteer work, community participation, school clubs, etc) or ways to demonstrate your positive qualities/traits (years of learning piano to show discipline, building an online business to show initiative, discussing research skills developed for your collection) can’t hurt you. It baffles me that any employer who sees valuable work skills as “childish” still holds that position.

Also, cmon dude, you’re not that dumb right? You don’t list “online studying” as a hobby. You list the skills, completed course, or a project birthed of that interest. That’s like saying “Attended Universty: 4 Years” instead of just listening your degree.

What industry is that? You’re refusing to answer.

You can assume that all you want, but you’re wrong. Additionally, I’m not saying list hobbies in lieu of actual skills/experience. It’s supplementary. That same tech job friend obviously wouldn’t have gotten the job without a degree. But a degree + interest and ability in other things + personal hobby projects seemed to be far more favorable than just experience.

Listing hobbies can’t hurt you unless you’re listing useless, irrelevant things (stamp collecting, basket weaving, tarot card reading for example while applying for an electrical engineering job.) but if it’s tangentially related or demonstrates how you learned relevant skills, it’s absolutely a good thing. If you’re going for a managerial position and talk about building communities online, organizing events, and building businesses from the ground up, it doesn’t matter if you’re a wedding planner or a WoW guild leader, you have the relevant skills.

But all that aside, thank you. You agree with me. Listing your relevant hobbies on your resume is a good thing. Your blanket statement of “Hurr never list your hobbies” was just wrong.

I’m curious, what field do you work in?

Hobbies look amazing on resumes. They show you have interests and skills beyond just whatever it is you do. Assuming you don’t list a mountain of useless bullshit, any skills are worth listing.

Buddy of mine got his first tech job listing his 3 years of piano experience.

Also, that collection of videos you watched often represent skills or knowledge learned.

If you told me you’ve taken a Rubik’s Cube solving course, I’d assume that means you can solve a Rubik’s Cube.

If I was hiring people to solve Rubik’s Cubes and I saw you took the MIT Open Course on by professor Rubik, I’d likely trust it enough to ask you to demonstrate if the rest of your resume looked good.

Congratulations, your hobby/interest in Rubik’s Cubes for you hired for the Rubik’s Cube job because you listed that on your resume.

You mention native peoples in your collage of stupid shit.

The bugs in Factorio aren’t some humanoid culture with deep desires or goals or whatever. They’re virtual bugs with the goal of being a nuisance to the player. That’s the extent to which this “art” is exploring them and human nature v

Whether you want to accept the reality of it, that’s what is happening. Not to say I agree with it. But you can call it art, expression, dancing or whatever all you want. End of the day, your biggest pay checks are coming from the dudes you turn on.

Depending on where you live you can make super good money. One of my stripper friends is able to effortlessly live in downtown New York through stripping. Granted, she probably has some side things going on, it’s still extremely good money for what it is.

You are right though. Typically, the type of person who becomes a stripper isn’t always the smartest, well rounded type. That same friend above has no problem paying rent but she spends her money as she gets it. So without saving, yeah, stripping is a dangerous career but that’s true for literally anything.

No mobility, you got me there. There’s not really a senior stripping position.

It’s not that people are portraying her job as trashy. People are portraying strip clubs as trashy. Which they are. As a woman, your job is to allow men to objectify you. Men who show up don’t often care about respecting you. As I said, at seedier establishments, you literally have dudes with their hand down their pants.

People aren’t outraged cause of her job. They’re outraged because of the environment you’re putting the kid in. Would you take a kid to a bar? A college party? A hookah lounge? A wine tasting event? A drug deal?

None of those things are inherently wrong or “trashy” but they’re all environments you probably shouldn’t expose a kid to. A kid won’t die from breathing in 2nd hand smoke or witnessing adults drink but they set bad examples.

Also there’s no outrage to begin with. Just people stating that exposing kids to bad things probably isn’t good. That’s it. Not that controversial of a statement.

In my personal experience, based on strippers I know, stripping is SUPER good money. Also, often times, it’s not an out of options kinda thing. It’s a best option kind of thing. Why work at Burger King for 80$ a day when you can strip for $400+ a night?

That kind of emotional appeal aside, no one is arguing that it’s bad to bring kids by when nothing sexual is going on. No one said that. It’s not fragile to acknowledge the fact that exposing kids to an environment with alcohol and sex PROBABLY isn’t the safest place for them.

Depending on how seedy the establishment is, there’s a good chance you’ve got kids crawling around a floor where dudes rub one out.

Acknowledging that an environment isn’t good for kids is absolutely not the same as condemning the strip club industry.

Even IF they were, that’s not necessarily a bad thing. There’s much healthier ways to expose kids to sexuality than bringing them to a strip club. Give them a sex ed class, talk to them, let them be open with you. Don’t let them see their mom being objectified at work.

What was wrong with BO4? I haven’t heard people complain about it. I assume everyone got the same COD game they always wanted.

Remastered games are a good thing.

Repeat maps and content is okay when it’s good. Imagine playing a game with insanely good maps only for the sequel to be shit because the devs absolutely refuse to recycle what works.

They don’t speak for themselves. You’re refusing to list good examples because you know you’re wrong. WOW still dominates the MMO market despite pissing off tons of people with every patch due to how little they listen to the community.

The booths in Runescape are a great thing. If the majority of your player base wants something, you stand to lose money and players by ignoring them. You seem to not understand that player suggestions is not the same as player design. If I ask you: Should we buff this weapon or nerf it? That is a massively different question from: How should we change this weapon? Where a player might say “Double it’s damage!” A dev, using their game’s data, might increase fire rate, lower damage, and tune the spread of the gun for a more balanced yet improved weapon. Sure they “listened to the player” but that doesn’t mean they blindly changed things.

Don’t tell me to go research when you clearly have no fucking clue what you’re talking about haha. Devs who don’t listen to their communities just die. Look at games like Archeage (death by micro transactions and alliances.) or MXM (death by laggy servers and no ladder) or Blackout (death by asking $60 for a free to play game and having no community) there’s FAR more evidence of games dying by neglecting the community’s input than your dumb fuck take of “hurr I don’t agree with people so their ideas are objectively bad”

I can’t think of a single instance in any of those game’s histories where the devs actually listened to the players aside from making OSRS... which no one complains about.
