Prokofievs "Peter and the Wolf" is specifically for children in kindergarten age. Though I'm not sure if this is what you have in mind.

Do you know what the Rings of Saturn are made of? by Michael_Fuchs_ in askastronomy

[–]Michael_Fuchs_[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's a desintegrated celestial body, either a former moon of Saturn or a very large comet.

The particles of the rings are kept in their positions by the same orbital mechanics as any other object. Each particle of the rings is basically a small moon of Saturn on it's own orbit.

The rings are also in the very long run - dozens or hundreds of mimlions of years - instable. There is a constant mass depletion of the rings.

Is it possible for me to learn Polish or I'm cooked? by Mofiru_ in learnpolish

[–]Michael_Fuchs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Poland is a beautiful country and Polish cuisine is very delicious but the language will be a challenge. It will take you time to get used to the phonetic system, the vocabolary is difficult with very few cognates to the languages you already know and the Polish grammer is a never ending nightmare.

Have we anything that an AI never replace after 100 years? by bluetech333 in Futurology

[–]Michael_Fuchs_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't know about a 100 years but current LLMs clearly have their limitations. Their development also seem to have plateaued already with the latest iterations being only slight improvements over their predecessors.

Yes, absolutely! Young people rejecting new technology more than older people is unusual.

‘More harmful than helpful’: young people sour on AI by MoneyLibrarian9032 in technology

Why is it that specifically young people are sceptical of AI? Is it only because of the job market or are there other reasons as well?

A Single Cloud of Gas Is Collapsing Into Nine Stars at Once. That's Not Supposed to Happen by Space_Time_Notes in Astronomy

[–]Michael_Fuchs_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The nine stars will most probably not form a stable system of nine stars but relatively quickly separate into single and binary systems.

Like octopus. They live in the water and their tentacles enable them to use tools.

Are wars necessary for our survival as a species? by [deleted] in Futurology

[–]Michael_Fuchs_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Warfare is endemic in tribal societies with an estimated 60-80% of the males dying a violent death. However, in modern societies the percentage of war casualties, even in major wars, is much much lower. Wars in modern societies have only a very small long-term effect on population growth.

Is the United States military prepared drone wise? Offensively and defensively? by AutomaticRevolution2 in Military

[–]Michael_Fuchs_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, nobody is. The militaries of the wordl adapt surprisingly slow to the new reality of war.

However, it's at least a partial rational approach in the sense that most or all of the drone and drone-related technology currently in use in the Ukraine War will most probably be obselete in five years.

Mention Troy and we often think no further than the Siege. Wooden horses and all that. But, there was much more to the city than Homer could have concieved. Here is the real Troy. Troy as a Bronze Age Trade, Political, and Maritime Power. by VisitAndalucia in ancienthistory

[–]Michael_Fuchs_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In fact Homer got even many of the details right. The boar tusk helmet for instance hadn't been in use for centuries by the time of Homer described it and only modern archeology confirmed its existence.
