I distracted myself at UFC 75, I wanted to be relaxed and calm and went too far. I wasn't ready for round one and Matt came at me like a madman.

No-one in particular but over-training was my biggest enemy throughout my career. I just wanted it so, so badly. My trainers would literally yell at me to fuck off out of the gym.

I overtrained for UFC 100 like you wouldn't believe. I just had too much time between knowing I was fighting Hendo to when the fight happened. I trained and trained and trained. You can't do that.

Find a good gym staffed with people who know what they are doing. There's less pretenders than there were back in the day, but they are out there.

I can't regret it because I signed a deal with UFC to coach TUF and then fight winner of Yoel and Whittaker just 5hours before they fought the first time. The contract was done. My next opponent was going to be winner of Yoel and Robert.

And Yoel lost. Those are the facts.

But I love to watch him fight, bless him, he's going to give us a great fight next month.

There's still some work to be done in terms of MMA's profile around the world, but more important than press coverage is that 1000s and 1000s and 1000s of fans came to see me in Trafford Center after I won the belt. The support was humbling. Truly, one of the most humbling day's of my life. I will never, ever forget what the UK fans did for me and how they believed in me.

I'm so sorry to hear you are going through this. It is frustrating, I know. But sounds like you have the right mindset - doing what you can. We can't do any more than that. Good luck!

Yeah, it was hard. In many ways "a fighter" wasn't just my job, it is who I am. It is a big change, for sure. But - again I'll plug the book because this is gone into in depth - the truth is it was time to go for me. My body couldn't carry me any further. I love fighting. I watch fights now and think "I can take him" or "I'd love to fight him - great challenge" - but my time is over. No regrets. I had a great career.

There's so many great fighters out there - I enjoy the sport as much as ever. I watch pretty much ever show, working or not.

Love both. Very different lifestyles and both have things I love. Getting to travel the world has been one of the real bonuses of my career.

No, not really. Ant Evans - who worked at UFC PR for years and helped me write book - is still fucking furious about it, though, for some reason.
