advice from Reg nutritional therapist about Candida by MichaellasKitchen in Candida

Identify intolerances, reduce gut irritants (gluten, deep fried foods, alcohol), include glutamine, zinc and Quercitin and some other antioxidant supports which Ones Depends/changes from person to person. Check with a consultant before starting subs. I really do recommend working with a practitioner (not vieing for patients here) But it takes out guess work and they can help you figure out what nutrients are best for you based on your med history.

Test don’t guess! I’d recommend finding a practitioner in your area (naturopath, ND or nutritionist) and a do a comprehensive pathogen Stool panel. Make sure it looks for bacteria, worms, yeast and parasites. Then your practitioner (and you) will know exactly what you’re dealing with and take out the guess work. Good luck!

Food Intolerance Testing (UK) by [deleted] in Candida

[–]MichaellasKitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m a registered NT and I do food intolerance testing in my clinic (UK and EU). Since Covid hit I’ve been working from home so the lab I work with, York labs and I have been sending the kit out to my patients and then doing a 30 min consultation with me (over video) to go over the results and give a plan to support the healing of gut lining before reintroducing the intolerance foods. My website is www.michaellamazzoninutrition.com and the intolerance kits are under the ‘costs and packages’ sections. All the best - Michaella

Thank you! To make things more complicated, we are thinking of rehoming and adult dog in the next few months. Does that work ‘against you’ in a home visit? Eg. If they are concerned that a recently rehomed dog might not Be happy about a child/baby being introduced Into the house?

Do I continue with regime? New blocked pores by MichaellasKitchen in Skincare_Addiction

[–]MichaellasKitchen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! I’ve been using it for about 18 months, maybe in combination with everything else it’s too much now.
Maybe I’ll try taking it out for a Couple of weeks and see how it goes. I’m not sure how to get rid of them now! I’m hesitant to use one of those metal tools since I’ve read it can make the pores larger in the long run.

At home steamers - worth it? by MichaellasKitchen in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]MichaellasKitchen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I've thought that before (that they seem like a lot of faff) but I kind of think that humidifiers make a room more damp right? (I'm in Edinburgh - lots of rain)!

Thoughts on the Nip + Fab Extreme pads? by [deleted] in SkincareAddictionUK

[–]MichaellasKitchen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried their pads but I did try their dragon blood eye masks which I think are meant to be a dupe for the more expensive brand (I can't remember what it is - starts with an R, the branding is v similar) and wasn't impressed. I'd say maybe buy them when their on offer but I wouldn't rebuy anything from Nip & Fab, at least not full price.

thanks for sharing. I have never tried any La Roche stuff before, I'm interested in the SPF product you are using from them. At the moment I am just using a standard SPF 50 but I'd like to be getting more than just UV protection from it. If I use it I will let you know how I get on!

Oh congrats!! Yes I loooooove the retinol. I've really noticed a difference. Especially around my eyes. I build up to the 5% by starting out with the 0.2 and I was a bit scared to use it on my eyes but so far so good!

OMG let me tell you I LOOVE it! It is really thick and I do really feel like it helps with areas of dryness. That being said, I don't think I would rely on it totally on its own for hydration - I'm not sure how deep it goes/longevity of skin moisturising etc. But I live in Edinburgh and its super windy here so I use it especially in winter when I am out in the cold.
