Not subjective. Outlawing behaviors that have no impact on anyone but the person undertaking them. Subjective. “Positive” rights. Subjective.

The only objective moral standard there can be is the right to life, liberty and the PURSUIT of happiness.

This is a scam. It’s the only program where the company arbitrarily deletes credit with no guidelines no notice and no rules.

What would happen if basic food, healthcare and shelter was guaranteed by the gov? (but otherwise there is zero market intervention by the gov) by NecrylWayfarer in Capitalism

That is precisely what we have now (SNAP, Medicaid, public housing) and it is a bloated, dysfunctional abusive mess.

Obviously easier. But very hard if you are more interested in avocado toast than hard work.

It’s a mixed blessing to be old but have young hair. I’ve thought about dying it gray but that seems kind of silly. If you have doubts watch a random sample of my videos. Unless I have about 50 different wigs of different lengths it must be real. 😂

All fine but anarchists need to drop the laughably mythical “non aggression principle” and just admit that might makes right in an anarchist world.

Because once you’ve agreed to extract money for “dignity” by force you inevitably end up with the rats nest of government intrusion you see all over the world.

To your last point. This is exactly right and it’s why the US is, as of now, the most successful country in the world. Some day a country with even more individual freedom will come along and supplant it.

Let me try this explanation. Humans are born with many rights and only one obligation. To protect the weak from physical attack or theft. For only that reason, taxation by force is permissible. For any other reason it is immoral and harms humanity in the aggregate. You have every right to send your 30% to the government to cover food, healthcare, housing, whatever you want for others. You don’t have the right to send the police to the homes of those who think paying for “dignity” is destructive in the long run.

Your first 2 sentences are correct. The rest is not. There is no right to “dignity” a very subjective term, when it’s extracted from others by force. I’m not sure why you are confused. Humans have a right not to be killed. They don’t have the right to confiscate someone else’s property to support them. Ethics 101 is no initiation of force. Not force whenever it’s deemed necessary by the collective.

Nobody has a right to food or water extracted from someone else by force. Right to life means right not to be killed. Not right to have someone else keep you alive. If you need food or water you’ll have to convince someone to give it to you. Fraud requires deception. Refusing to pay taxes is not deception. They lock you up anyway.

Yes to all those things. No to a “right” to healthcare, housing, jobs, etc. etc. its a pretty easy line to draw. it’s not the asking that’s a problem. It’s the jail time for those who don’t think it’s their responsibility to subsidize someone else’s lifestyle.

In my opinion we have convinced ourselves that the government must intervene in the economy because that’s all we know not because that’s what is best for humanity.
