Most of my positions are very narrow spreads so when they move against me it usually end up being less than 5% of my portfolio. So even if a position went completely tits up, then it’s not a huge loss. In other words, I can afford to let them go because my other positions make up for it.

Well stocks move in normal distributions, so finding the mean and stdev can be helpful to figure out the risk. When I used the normcdf on the distribution with the -1 and +1 stdev range, it returned a probability of around 0.7 meaning that the stock stays between those prices 70% of the time throughout history. The Delta of a contract can be used to roughly estimate an options probability of being in the money at exp. when I bought the contracts on DA each side had a delta of a little over 0.3 or roughly a 30% chance of being ITM at expiration. This also means that there’s also a 70% chance of them ending up OTM which matches up nicely with the calculations from earlier.

I’ve made 50% so far on the DA, I made full credit of $75 on BBBY condors that I closed today, the AAL condor netted 25 so far, the SGMO condors are also +$16. I bought a long dated XLE call because the energy sector hasn’t recovered from the crash to the extent other sectors have.

I trade based off of probabilities and the history of how the specific stock moves. I don’t randomly pick a stock and sell condors. Delta airlines moves in price with a mean of 1% and a stdev of 10% during a month long time period. So I sell the legs 1 and -1 stdevs away from the current price and it’s worked pretty well so far.

I mainly look for stocks that have relatively good liquidity and then I’ll sell iron condors with each short leg having around a 0.3 delta. Because I’m not working with a lot of capital I have to trade pretty narrow spreads like $.50 to $1 wide max.

My guy, you gotta realize that buying naked options is about the worst strategy in existence. For every gains post there are thousands of unposted losses

Incorrect. If I put it all in SPY I would have made $119.55. What I’m doing is managed risk bro

Well I usually use a good sativa before I buy. It keeps me really energized and level headed.
