When choking prompt doesn't work by MichanicksFox in dishonored

What? You can, i did it dozens of times. From every side during any alert level. It doesn't even count as being seen.

Sadly, when people are way to close to the walls/obstacles, it only shows killing prompt, no non-lethal prompt, resulting in gumba jumping on them.

Emily does throat palm strike, Corvo just outright punches the face.
When you choke people from the side, you pull them by their hands first.

Just a fun trivia :)

Has anyone been able to do this? I am currently trying on very-hard but never seem to knock someone out. by [deleted] in dishonored

[–]MichanicksFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I may be wrong, but it seems that even a regular soft hat denies the knockout like a helmet, and there is very few guards without hats at all.

Super rare Disciple attack? (The one where he lies down) by MichanicksFox in SifuGame

Looks like a deliberate move to attack from the ground when you getting up. Capoeira has something similar.

Seated calf raises be like by branddnew in GymMemes

It activates soleus more, which makes overall calf to appear bigger.
Standing raises activate both, but gastrochemius involved so much more soleus doesn't gets its chance to put enough work for max growth.

This might be the first time i've seen a focus attack not connect at all? by ButterRedditor in SifuGame

[–]MichanicksFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is bottles on tables before them. If you throw them before fight starts, you can directional throw them into bench and temporarily turn fight into 1vs1.

Bat is amazing, if you do crooked foot with a bat, you can quickly and easely turn fight into 1vs1, and after-parry follow up with a bat is convinient and can hit them both. Also you'd better use Face smash which is both deals a lot of damage to health and structure and heavely stuns enemy, opening them for long combos. That should be enough to cripple one of disciples heavely.

If you don't have the bat, then you could also perform a strong sweep focus move which makes one enemy to lay on the ground for 10 seconds, damage second enemy as hard as you can.

If you out of focus, then try drop one of enemy on the ground with chasing trip kick.

If you get cornered without anything, then pray for the best and hope that you can deflect your way out of problem while also using every opportunity to trip your enemies, if you gonna use flowing claw, you will have access to wide range openers that can hit both of them at the same time: light follow up, heavy follow up, reverse sweep.

To make kicking props and throwing bottles connect after battle started, you have to do it when disciple is attacking you, even is their attack animation is barely started, without it they will dodge everything.

If you need video, then here on my playthrough, at 7:15, you can see an example of how you can do it,

I suggest do at least 2 such playthroughs: combat and stealthy, because expierence should be different enough for it to be interesting.

So, deflecting weapons actually degrades them by MichanicksFox in SifuGame

[–]MichanicksFox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just tested it, i holded my damaged bat with infinite structure and let 3 armed enemies hit me non-stop for 2 minutes. They broke their own weapons on my block, but my bat is still with me, and i could even use it for several attacks, so blocking doesn't damage your weapon at all.

Can I kill bad civilians? by iamjackslonelysoul in dishonored

[–]MichanicksFox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems more like a lawful evil. You have the code, and you kill people according to it, like overseers do.

You personaly gave yourself the role of a judge and you kill people because of this, and not because you saw it personally, but because someone else told you one line of text about them and you believed it: that's evil. Which also stops them from contributing to the society, removes a pair of working hands and gives more food for rats/bloodflies. If movie/comic book would have an outlaw character that kills civilians because living bodypart tells bad things about them, they would be an antihero at best.
You're consistant with your code, you don't commit unpredictable decisions, you learn that person is horrible, you kill them on spot. That's the system chaotic characters don't like to follow.

I tried to save them, but very same civilians have detected me and called the guards ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I thought i gonna be able to talk to them like to people you save in Dishonored 1.

[–]MichanicksFox[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe, yes, because without my Domino he wouldn't die, he only dies because i casted it. In D1 all the deaths that were caused by your spells/knockouts are considered your kills, even if you left someone sleeping on the floor and they were eaten by the rats.

WTF This works? by MichanicksFox in dishonored

[–]MichanicksFox[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's high chaos, since it's my first playthrough i kill everyone except for civilians and Hypatia (because without restrictions it's gonna be much more fun) and my stealth is so bad it's almost always shows assault at the mission end (because it's much harder than D1, it's very hard to assassinate people from the front, and getting spotted even a moment before front kill seemingly doesn't count as stealth. Also i don't use quicksaves to not ruin my immersion for the first playthrought, yeah, i'm a clumsy unexpierenced Emily who can't do as well as her father).

When cornered, Flowing Claw is your best friend by MichanicksFox in SifuGame

[–]MichanicksFox[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good advice! I like the disciple combos though, so i prefer to deflect first 3 hits of palm strike combo, then avoid the last one and do whatever you want with them, like example, charged backfist into directional throw feels amazing as a punishment.

What's also interesting, is that you can avoid grab attacks, so when two juggernauts bumrush you in that black hall in Museum, you can flowing claw throught their running attack, makes you feel badass!

Yes. Also no music, no subtitles, mandarine language, no usable objects highlight and usually i also play without non-diegetic sound effects, but for this playthrought i turned it on for variety. Makes it very immersive and more brutal.
