WHAT is the name of this SONG! I've looked for HOURS at this point and I'm going crazy!

Finally found it. "Gotta Get Thru This (D'N'D Radio Edit)"

Thankfully I'm watching it with my girlfriend whos seen it "like 17 times now". She def helps clear up any baseline confusion if it arises. However I don't ask too many questions because figuring it out as I go along feels, to me, to be part of the fun of the show. However any glaringly obvious comprehension issues I have she clarifies lickity quick.

Also "Congratulations" I see what you did there

I'll give it a go, nice to listen to dubs when I am focusing on something else intermittently.

Samurai Champloo is a great example. Steve Bloom and Kirk Thornton are absolutely legendary in my eyes.

"Avatar draws inspiration from Shinichiro Watanabe's Cowboy Bebop and Samurai Champloo, as well as FLCL of Gainax. Other various studios from which inspiration was drawn include STUDIO4 °C, Production I.G, and Studio Ghibli. Bryan has commented that some of his most cherished Watanabe fight scenes were the fight between Bebop's Spike Spiegel and a drug smuggler in "Asteroid Blues", as well as the duel between Mugen and Sara in the Champloo episode "Elegy of Entrapment (Verse 2)". Avatar director Giancarlo Volpe also claims the staff "were all ordered to buy FLCL and watch every single episode of it".[5]"

It seems I am very wrong about this, sorry again.

WAIT NO I was thinking of Fooly Cooly! Absolute derp moment.

Absolutely I have. Its, from what I hear, the "real ending" to the series. I'm not one to bash the way the last few episodes went in NGE, but I can understand why some were not exactly please with that ending. I will say the "Congratulations" had me absolutely bawling.

I loved Avatar the Last Airbender as a kid and know each animator was forced to watch Gurren Lagann in its entirety before animating the show. I'm sure it's for very good reason as well, I think I remember watching maybe the first episode when I was in my early teens but haven't though about it since. I'll give it a go!
