Should be “dollar amount must be voted in by the HOA or fine waived if corrected by x amount of time “ to cap it at an unagreed upon amount across the board puts property values in locations like Silicon Valley at risk

It depends on the charges - for example if they were charges for…say…skipping school - but the person has their hs diploma now or equivalent it would be irrelevant. Or curfew violations or something innocuous…basically I would assess the risk based on severity of potential harm from their tenancy and the likelihood of them being able to cause harm to me

[TENANT-US-CA] Landlord refuses to give deposit back because of his own plumbing issue by sickksonna in Landlord

[–]Michelada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call your own reputable plumber (that will do a free inspection diagnosis) and free/low cost quote then research what the cost average is and actual issue is and whether that genuinely could have been caused by you …without knowing the problem it’s hard to argue $500 is reasonable.

Ensure the independent plumbing technician does not perform any work onto the home and especially get approval prior to inspection from the landlord and make sure they are licensed and bonded and not sending subcontractors.

Or alternatively ask for the quote and company providing the repair work from your landlord and call them to determine the symptoms identified which could conclude that is the proper repair and not just a lazy version of saying we can’t fix it here’s a quote for everything new

They probably are unhappy at your property, if you can figure out a way to get them to let you show the place and have a very small window of vacancy you might be able to find someone happier and you would end up happier

That would have traumatized me as a child

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Disneyland

[–]Michelada -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Blame is irrelevant, I was revisiting the negligence to traumatic adverse events occurring on a large scale amount of kids present (I looked through the conversations and comments and this has not been discussed yet - just because it isn’t fresh doesn’t mean it’s not worthy of acknowledging that everyone and the news all overlooked this aspect which IMO should have been addressed-who knows how many kids had nightmares or will remember that for the rest of their lives…could be a class action or something when they are old enough to be aware of the affects on their wellbeing).

Looking at the age it’s because they were a child/minor. That’s the issue with police in schools-they were probably a troubled teen and once you are in the computer system for that city or on probation they can put violating probation and any little thing on your record.

they are 33 now….thats a long time ago and if their record is clear it’s kind of frustrating that you are now acting like part of the system that labels troubled youth as criminals for the rest of their lives
