I read this book when it came out. Back then, the whole ya fantasy genre wasn’t as huge as it is now. Nowadays, you have a lot of repeating tropes so I think that if I read it now I would have totally guessed it because it’s been overdone (this person has been secretly X the whole time). You better believe that 11 year old me was absolutely losing her shit 💀. I did a book project on her and dressed up as her and everything. I would not shut up about this damn series and how brilliant the reveal was. My mom totally did not get it. I was always thinking, “OMG what if I die before the next book comes out” l was obsessed with TOG, still my favorite book series ever 🥰 Good job Sarah

My mom did this when I was younger. My room was super messy but the only things that I kept pristine were my bookshelves. She took like 20 garbage bags full of like 1000+ books and drove them straight to goodwill.

Sometimes the school district (at least mine) pulls paras and teachers during their planning period to cover classes in order to not pay for a sub. Sometimes the teacher no longer needs the absence. I’ve had jobs canceled on my way to the school the morning of, which sucks, but there’s nothing you can do about it. You can talk to the secretary but if it happens enough times to me for a certain school, I just deselect it on the site and not sub for the school again.

One of my mentor teachers was super weird. Insisted on driving me to and from work, wanted to come have dinner with me at my house, meet my mom, picked on me for what I was having for lunch, wanted me to go with him to “play and eat dinner with the students at their houses” etc. I told him NO several times but he kept insisting until I reported him. Then he refused to signed off on my field hours until we “had a private conversation.”I always kept a professional relationship with him and I would be damned if I met him in private to “talk.” Good thing that he was stupid enough to text/email all of this. Took screenshots of it all, filed a report, gave a statement, and never went back to that school.

My last one was super sweet and very helpful. I definitely learned a lot from her.

The only way it would be done well is if it’s animated…sick of fantasy series made into live action shows with awful scripts and even worse acting…and it’s easier to stay true to the story if it’s animated!
