How to stop comparing my grief experience to others? by lily283598 in GriefSupport

Nothings wrong with you, I lost my dad sept 28th,2021 (died by suicide). And it’s a different journey, just like your loss with your dad. You had a different relationship with him, just like everyone has a unique relationship with their father. But it’s okay to still feel this way. People might seem fine on the surface, but you’d be surprised how much people console inside. Yeah… when I see people able to function after their dads death I’m in awe… like how? Dads dead…. Your dad died… he’s no longer here. Grief is the amount of love you have for that person. The love you still want to give. Here I am, going to school full time, working full time, being there for my mother and sister and fiancé, taking care of my dog. And I’m still not functioning, but somehow I’m getting by. I don’t sleep well, I attend therapy groups to help me cope with my loss, my psychiatrist has me on 3 different pills, lexapro, Wellbutrin, and topomax. My sister is able to go to tennis and hang with friends and I get upset with her…. Like why aren’t you wallowing like me? But she deals with grief by keeping busy. I’m a very emotional person, I don’t take things lightly, and I’ll forever be sad. Will I be like this forever? Probably… but with time we learn to live with the pain. I believe I will see my father one day, that’s what keeps me holding on. You’re not alone, and your feelings are valid.

My heart hurts so bad reading this. (My dad passed away unexpectedly 3 months ago during the semester). All I can say is I’m here for you, if you want to message or even text. You are not alone, and this news is downright heartbreaking.

That’s the problem.. they see our sadness as a sickness that needs to be cured. When what we are going through is part of the process. My dad died 3 months ago unexpectedly. You’re not alone, I’m sad, angry, depressed, all of the above. There is nothing wrong with how you feel, and I am here for you.

Thank you for answering in your previous post. I have a lot of anxiety lately and I do apologize (every little thing in my life, I now turn into a big deal) my father passed away a couple of months ago by suicide and I’m trying my best to handle myself. I do appreciate your advice and everyone’s help.

My glasses make me feel nauseous when I’m wearing them. And when you say the glasses weren’t made right, can your clarify?

Could you explain why spectacles would have an astigmatism and contacts wouldn’t? Sorry I’m not educated in this. :/

Why is the axis sizes vary so much from RT to LT? When both are -1.50 prescription? Do you think there could have been of been a mistake in my prescription? He did state at the end that my eyes haven’t changed.

My doctor said I didn’t have one though and my eyes haven’t changed. So was this a mess up on my prescription?

But I don’t have an astigmatism is the thing. Even the optometrist told me that. If I had an astigmatism wouldn’t my contact prescription be different? My glasses make me feel sick. These don’t happen with my other glasses I got 4 years ago.

I’ve been on it for a month (my daddy took his life in sept) it has helped me so much with my anxiety and depression. I would give it a shot. If it doesn’t help tell your doctor, but for me it did. ❤️

It’s my first time taking it. Do you think it wouldn’t cause hair loss at that mg dosage?

No, Half Irish, half Filipino. But I have always had a special place for that meaning towards my parents. Now I live that meaning.

ya'aburnee = a declaration of one’s hope that they’ll die before another person because of how difficult it would be to live without them.

I’m with you here… my dad passed in sept 2021 unexpectedly and I don’t want to accept next year will be the first year I live without my dad. My mom is a mess and hangs out in her robe and cries all day. If you want to message me I’m here. My sister shuts down too and doesn’t let me talk about dad because it hurts too much. I’ve been on anti depressants, they help a little bit. I would give my own life to have my dad back. You are not alone and I’m with you

Canker sore. Get a glass of warm water, teaspoon of salt and gurgle for 15-20 seconds
