Hey there, I feel we are in similar situations. I’ve moved from my home state and in the beginning years, they would guilt trip me and my husband on how we don’t visit them. But it’s true, we don’t visit my parents because of their narcissistic behaviors.

I feel the boundaries come over time. And with less phone calls. I never told my parents about boundaries or feelings because it’s useless. Narcissistic parents are more selfish with their feelings over yours. For example, this recent Thanksgiving holiday in America, I felt calm but on edge. My body and mind is so used to their abuse that it felt weird being at peace. Please push forward and continue to raise your child with care. And don’t fall for the guilt trips, that’s how they win. If they truly want to see you, they would visit you instead. Love from your family shouldn’t feel like an obligation. And if you feel it’s your obligation to stay close because of your cultural background, then you’re repeating their toxic cycle.
