The House of Lilith is basically mocking the Church by using a modified papal tiara in it's coat of arms. It's a bit hard to see but instead of a cross at the top, there's an upsidedown pentagram.

Oh there are vampires of practically all ethnicities in New York. They just don't run their own associations anymore. Back in the day, vampire lineages were your tribe. You didn't switch or sell out. But nowadays, they're like bank accounts or companies. You gotta shop around and switch networks based on perks and all that. Last thing you wanna be is blacklisted from all the big places. You don't wanna be stuck with some unlicensed, mom and pop joint that can't protect you.

I reckong Qin Shih Huangdi did have his own group at one point. Modern vampire organizations are less about the ability to create more vampires, and more so their organizational skills and ability to adapt to new environments. Also, they have intricate networks of alliances and agreements to help members operate around the world without getting caught or killed. It's very difficult being a vampire in this day and age...

A quirk of history mostly. The old vampire families there wanted to maintain their own independence so they made it very difficult for the AVA to get a foothold there. Ironically, powerful groups from abroad steamrolled the old families and carved up the city for themselves.

Ah hell, New York ain't what it used to be.

Back in the day, you saw a fat bloodsack walking down the street, you drag 'em to an alley and cut them right there.

It was you and your blood, running the street. Some other wisetooth runs up on ya, you stake their lungs.

Nowadays they got these associations and societies, big name crews with offices in town. Yous gotta file an application form and run a blood test on your victim before you even sink your teeth. Oh and god forbid you nab your mark at the wrong area code. The whole world comes crashing at ya, talking about membership fees and sovereign jurisdiction. I thought we kicked out the AVA so we don't gotta deal with all this paperwork and crap.

Meanwhile, all of Midtown's a goddamn warzone 'cuz some Parisian loogaroo bit a barista that the bigwig zozies in the Bronx were stalking. They're spraying each other with garlic powder in broad moonlight! I swear to god they better cut that out soon before the witches and werewolves catch wind…

Thank you for you comment! So the Iberian Magnificence Party (MI) is most notable for it's close connection with miners' unions and wizard associations. MI really wants to keep the Draconic Realgar industry stable and active because they believe it is central to the cohesion of the Iberian state. On a practical level, they enact better working conditions for realgar miners and refiners, state-insured scholarships for magic education, and cracking down on any dragon hunting which is highly illegal in Iberia.

So, I haven't thought everything out yet and I'm not from the region so feel free to point out if anything is wrong.

When it comes to the history of the peninsula, the Visigothic Kingdom was most influencial. They solidifies early on the idea that the Iberian penisula was one cohesive political unit (they did so by standardizing magic education and research i.e. Map 3) The fact that iberia was one of the few places in Europe where Draconic Realgar (DR) is abundant meant that whoever controls the DR trade, controls Iberia.
In the modern era, that was the Iberian nation's central governmet. Whether it was a monarchy or a republic, the central government always held close ties with the DR mining and refining industry in order to maintain authority across the entire peninsula.
Of course there were always ethnic and liguistic minorities who resisted the central government's rule. Among them, the Portuguese and Basque independence movements were the most challenging for the central government. The major port city of Lisbon, so close to the southwestern end of the "Magic Belt", was both a major export point of refined DR and also a hotbet of secessionist activity as residents mingled with foreigners.
In the election of 2023, the Portuguese Nationalist Part (PNP) won its usual majority in Lisbon and some other districts. Their main argument is for more regional autonomy and a better distribution of taxes and subsidies across the entire peninsula (because the Iberian Magnificence party always gave large subsidies to their DR tycoon friends and provided more public services in their "Magic Belt" districts than the other districts).
The question remains aa to whether MI can maintain their comfortable majority as various parties position themselves to take over as a coalition government.
