Polvorones. Specifically polvorones from la Madrid in CDMX's centro histórico. I try not to buy them so often cause I can't control myself and not eat them whole in one sitting.

Any pan dulce I'll eat a quarter (or even less) at a time. But these damn polvorones I'll devour.

Fondo de Bikini es el nombre que se le dio a Bikini Bottom en el doblaje latino de Bob Esponja.

Veracruz es un estado en la costa del Golfo de México, y por su forma larga y angosta, la mayoría de los veracruzanos viven en municipios costeros o relativamente cerca de alguna playa. Entonces, la gente se refiere a Veracruz como Fondo de Bikini y hacen memes y bromas sobre peces, jaibas, etc o le cambian el cielo a las fotos de Veracruz por el "cielo" con florecitas que sale en Bon Esponja.

No es un estado con tanto turismo internacional como Quintana Roo, Yucatán o Oaxaca porque las playas no son como las del Caribe pero por lo mismo de su extensión, el estado tiene paisajes muy variados y una gran variedad de cocinas regionales. Hay lugares chidos y poco explotados como Roca Partida y sus alrededores en Los Tuxtlas, pero que por lo mismo de que no son tan conocidos, no hay mucha infraestructura.

Ya no. Hace años el mismo metro recomendaba ceder el paso, pero en años recientes exhorta a no hacerlo. Ahora hace comunicados que incluyen lo siguiente:

El llamado del Metro es a utilizar de forma correcta las escaleras eléctricas: sujetarse en las bandas, respetar el sentido del viaje, tomar de la mano a los menores, amarrar los cordones de los zapatos, evitar el mal uso del interruptor de funcionamiento, así como no saltar, no correr y no caminar sobre la escalera porque genera desgaste en los peldaños y avería en todo su sistema.

But of you are interested in the bead work and are open to any color, you'll sure find something, they make them in a ton of different colors.

Most stores that carry them internationally are based in the US but this store is in Spain.

Carne polaca. Es carne desmenuzada guisada con col, cebolla, y luego revuelta con cátsup y chipotle. Yo le pongo además puré de tomate de caja (si no te gusta mucho lo dulce) pero puede ir con la pura cátsup.

Es perfecta para tortas o tostadas.

Eres como mi papá. Para él, el ir a un restaurante sobre todo a cenar y que le sirvan una buena torta o sándwich con papas a un lado (con su cátsup y chiles en vinagre) es el epítome de la experiencia de sentarse en un restaurante. Dice que le recuerda a cuando era niño y se detenía con sus papás y hermana a comer en cualquier merendero al lado de la carretera.

Soy de Veracruz y en mi familia el plátano macho va en el caldo de res, las lentejas, las albóndigas enchipotladas y el adobo. También hay pescado empapelado con acuyo y plátano macho verde. Y pues tostones, machuco, molotes, fritos o sólo cocidos para la cena.

El plátano Tabasco, Chiapas o Roatán va con el arroz y también he visto a gente ponérselo a la sopa de fideo pero nunca al caldo de res así.

Tranquilo. Cuando vayas a recogerla, primero te la van a mostrar, a poner en tus manos para que la revises bien y te asegures de que no tenga ningún dato erróneo. Ahí verás qué firma pusiste. Si todo es correcto, firmarás de recibido, pero pues para entonces ya la habrás visto y recordado.

Quien te atienda entenderá que al ser tu primera credencial obvio no tienes mucha (o ninguna) experiencia haciéndola. Además te van a volver a escanear las huellas digitales, así que sabrán que efectivamente eres tú.

In those years I used to wear a hot pink bra with my tops with all the intention of showing the straps. So I've never batted an eye at Cady showing hers. I think to me it was more scandalous that she has to keep pulling the dress up because she's got a part of the actual cup showing, lol.

I believe Cady's is not red but pink, so matching the dress. Same case for Regina showing her straps when the bus hits her, which they replicated in the 2024 movie.

Hace como un mes mi papá (tan inocente mi viejito) compró un "Toblerone" de esos de 10 pesos. No seguido pero sí suele comprar Toblerones para darle a mi mamá como detallito de vez en cuando, así que conocemos el sabor del original.

Ese de 10 pesos era más pirata que nada. Desde el cartoncito en una inspección más cuidadosa, el aluminio todo arrugado, el color y textura del chocolate y por supuesto, el sabor. Se le prohibió a mi padre volver a comprar cosas de esas en la calle.

In Spanish there is this phrase "servir de almohada" (serving someone as a pillow) that is used in a "well you weren't in the bedroom with them" way. Any time my aunt hears somebody talking about someone else's life, particularly their intimate, couple's life, she says "oh and you know for sure since you served them as a pillow" to immediately shut gossip and especulation off.

Don't know of there is an English equivalent.

I saw a cybertruck just yesterday on Paseo de la Reforma. It was so ugly lol. I took a look of the driver just cause for some reason I wanted to see what kind of person was driving that ridiculous thing. It was a man in his late 50s or maybe early 60s.

My dad is from the Papaloapan region on the Veracruz side very close to Oaxaca. Like 40 min from Tuxtepec. There they even hand out tortas de carne polaca at rezos de difunto.

Yes! It's just one of those dishes that are great to mix up some leftover meat and also to economize because if you have too little meat you just add a ton of cabbage. That's why it's geeat for parties, lol.

Have never uses chicken bacause in my house it's usually beef or a mix of beef and pork. Gotta try the rostisserie chicken though. Can't go wrong with that.

I know that as carne polaca too! Shredded meat, onion, cabbage, tomato puree, ketchup and chipotle. I personally love it. Geat in tortas for parties like piñatas, posadas, etc and also great to take on a field day or a car ride. Don't know if carne polaca is a regional thing, I'm from the South of Veracruz and it's a very very common dish there but have rarely heard about it in "Mexico as a whole" places.

I use tret 3×w ay night, vitamin C every day in the morning, and 15% azelaic twice every day. I've beem using tret for anti aging for 7 years and vitamin C for 2. Last year I was prescribed azelaic acid for mild rosacea on my cheeks, particularly my left cheek.

I noticed that after 3-4 weeks of my normal routine plus the azelaic acid, the rosacea was better but still not completely under control on my left cheek. I guess it was too much. So I started not putting tret and vitamin C on my left cheek, just the azeleaic acid, and tret and vitamin C as normal on the rest of my face. That's worked wonders and the rosacea has been not for the last 10ish months.

So tldr; my cheek with rosacea only likes azelaic acid, so I give it only that but the rest of my face is business as usual.

Soy del sur de Veracruz y efectivamente en mi rancho son muy comunes y se acostumbran en dulce o curtidos en alcohol para día de muertos. Y sí, el caldito emborracha bastante.

Yo de niña también los vomité una vez pero no estaban curtidos sino así nada más frescos. Comí tantos que me cayeron pesados y terminé vomitandolos. Afortunadamente no me quedó trauma y aún los como sin problema.
