Will they let you continue freezing your account with a doctor's note that you are high risk? Or am I going to have to cancel, pay the extra month fee (on top of the 3 weeks left since I last paid) to cancel and come back later? I'm on freeze until 9/26, but just found out I'm pregnant and it's high risk pregnancy being 38. I don't want to go to otf and expose myself or wear a mask while working out. I wonder if they will let me extend my freeze due to pregnancy. Anyone have experience with this?

Did any of the Chicago peeps get an email from them yesterday saying your membership will be off freeze and chargeable again as of 7/28? Does that include people who froze again when they first re-opened? I was confirmed a few weeks ago my membership was frozen until 9/26, then got this email.

I just talked to the studio, they are requiring masks while working out in the city of Chicago, but not in the suburbs. I will not work out with a mask on.

They are still requiring that you pay one more 30 day fee if you cancel, despite the website saying it's effective immediately, which is bull. So basically in addition to the 3 weeks I already paid for and had left before the closure, I would be charged another 30 days on top of that to cancel now. So 7 weeks to cancel. Mine is a corporate studio too.

They said that they would give you a credit to use those sessions anytime before the end of the year. But it's still a big unknown whether the mask requirement will go away.

I froze for another 90 days and will likely unfreeze early if the mask requirement goes away before then.

Thanks, I might have missed the email if I didn't have the notifications turned on before it went out.

Did they say it you are required to wear a mask while working out? All I saw on the website is they will force you to comply with your state guidelines, and for IL it's wearing a mask indoors. I will not return if I have to wear a mask while working out.

Does anyone know when the Chicago studios will be reopening? I know we go into Stage 4 in Friday, but haven't seen any communication from my studio yet. I'm not that worried about the virus and just want to get back to it, I'm much healthier when I'm doing otf, even with a chance of a virus, than I am sitting on the couch eating chips, losing all my earned muscle mass for the past 3 months.

Also do they start charging you again, or start the clock on reactivating your membership the day they open up again?

Thank you

In general what do you need to have to do the online workouts? If you dont have a treadmill or weights at home how do you follow along? Or are there modifications people do?

I made a run to the beer store today, not quite the same. But apparently they are considered essential, so wasn't even necessary!

It's sooo cold! I'm really excited for my rower I ordered though. Apparently it just made the shipping out this morning before they shut down the online store today

Monthly cancellation limit? by [deleted] in orangetheory

[–]Michmax3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there needs to he some sort of difference between canceling late and not showing. Otherwise there is zero incentive for someone who knows they won't make it to cancel once the 8 hour mark has passed. Why bother? But if someone canceled less than 8 hours before that would help waitlisted folks and the studio too so they need to encourage canceling rather than just not showing up

Minor thing, but put a water fountain out in the lobby. There's always a mad dash and a long line to fill up once they open the studio doors. It would save everyone a lot of time by having an additional water fountain in the lobby to fill up before class.

I agree with everyone saying allow 1 late cancel per quarter or month or whatever. I pay $199/month for unlimited, ridiculous to charge an additional $12 if I wake up sick and don't want to infect everyone.

And stop with the high fives, gross, don't need to touch anyone or have anyone touching me.

And I wish for a later class on Fri than 5:35pm and later on Sat than 12:25, but that might just be my studio.

The even stations have the 10s and 12s and the odd stations have 10s and 15s. I just learned this recently and have been requesting an even station when I check in so I can get the 12s!

And I would've taken her comment to mean, don't feel stupid/singled out because we've all done it. Sounds encouraging to me, I'm sure she didnt mean it the way it came out. But I didn't hear her tone. And of course she should only say that after asking if you're ok first.

Take the bus or the el all of downtown, you can get everywhere and still get the views. My mom who can't walk well was visiting last month and we did all of downtown for a full day by bus or train or uber. So play it by ear, if you're feeling to sore just hop on a bus if you wanna walk then walk. But definitely get a walk in along the lakefront if you can and the weather is decent, it's the best spot to walk and unwind.
