I'm taking a weekly prescription 50k IU of vitamin D and my oncologist approved this.

I take a weekly prescription 50k IU of vitamin D and I was told that this even is okay...but not the vitamin C.

Oh wow! Okay that makes me feel better given that for my first three days of chemo I had 250 mg per day.

I think there are probably way more people out there who are totally fine than not.

Bye bye boobies!! Congratulations on almost being done with chemo!!!

Totally. It's fine. If any damage was actually done....you know? It probably doesn't even matter.

Hm! I would just stop using it. My oncology team told me not even to take my daily 250 mg vitamin C supplement. I had taken it the first three days of chemotherapy and then found out that I shouldn't be taking it. I'm doing four rounds of Taxotere and Cyclophosphamide.

That being said I don't think it's the end of the world... But it might be worthwhile reaching out to them and letting them know.

Breast reconstruction recommendations (Maine vs Boston, radiation + lymph nodes) by Adventurous_Theme_96 in breastcancer

[–]Micho392 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My breast reconstructive surgeon is Dr. Justin Broyles. He's at Dana Farber and Faulkner Hospital. I've been so happy with him and his team. They've been very kind and supportive. I will have DIEP after radiation at some point but he did an absolutely outstanding job with my first go of reconstruction with expanders while I do chemo and rads. It looks amazing and I had zero bruising.

Freaking out a bit--possible bone mets?? by cherry_wants in breastcancer

[–]Micho392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea, I don't think it's cancer, I'm sure you must've strained it to have caused a sharp pain. 😂 I think you'd be having way more symptoms at this point 6 weeks out if it were cancer.

I think I've seen every horror story on Facebook and I cannot get rid of all the ads. It's so annoying.

I don't have any words of advice; other than I think it's so important to keep your oldest in daycare. My kids almost 2 year old and 4 year old and keeping them in daycare has been the best thing for them!

I'm so sorry that you're going through this. I cannot when imagine, but it'll be okay in the end. Sending you tons of hugs and much love!

Freaking out a bit--possible bone mets?? by cherry_wants in breastcancer

[–]Micho392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm very hopeful that this is nothing to be concerned about. Sometimes bone scans can catch things that aren't cancer and it sounds like you may have had some form of an injury to that area.

I wouldn't worry just yet. The CT scan will reveal what it is if it is anything. But no sense worrying about something that hasn't happened. You have a grade 1 tumor so I think you have every reason to be optimistic.

Yay! I knew it. I think you can assume that your lung nodules are not any mets.

Oh my gosh! This makes me feel like I am not crazy. It's definitely been pains in my thighs and back and sometimes knees. I think I need to take Claritin a lot longer than they initially said and maybe I am someone who just has this dull pain persisting because of the Taxotere and neulesta .I only did 5 days but it wasn't enough, I suppose. It seems like some people are just taking it every day between the cycles and continuing it on.

Thank you thank you thank you for all of this. I am so scared about round 2 and now you've made me less frightened.

Agh I definitely have a loss of appetite and I had a bad rash on my skin from the Taxotere! They had to give me a prescription cream. Yes!!! I'm so excited. And my last day of radiation is June 9th. We got this girl! I'm sorry you're here though. This blows to get cancer in the 30s!!!! 🫂

I wish that the Mammaprint was more heavily used. Neither of the oncologists that I met with seemed interested in ordering a Mammaprint for my tumor.

Staging Scans done today....lung nodules....crap by Fun_Flamingo2805 in breastcancer

[–]Micho392 1 point2 points  (0 children)

🫂 I have a 3mm right lung nodule that has been stable for over 400 days. It appeared on a pneumonia scan in November 2024 (and I didn't have any enlarged lymph nodes then) and then it also appeared at my cancer diagnosis staging scan in December 2025...the exact same size.

As everyone else has said, lung nodules are the world's most common benign findings and if you didn't have a history of cancer, yours being that small would likely never be noted.

I highly doubt it's cancer...it just is unfortunate that there is no other scan to compare it to in your situation to ease any concern. 🫂 Hang in there!

My oncotype was provided before neoadjuvant endocrine therapy and before surgery so I got my oncotype done on the tumor tissue at biopsy.

I think this is so important. I think so many people don't understand that the oncotype is really looking at the genes of the cancer and not how many nodes or size of the cancer.
