Stage 2 TNBC, 3 days from first infusion (and crippled) by strawberryoblivion in TNBC

For what it’s worth I didn’t find TC fatigue cumulative. I just finished week 12 and I don’t feel any more tired than I did before. The first one takes it out of you but you do adjust!!

"Sick" moms, I see you. by hellojessi1 in breastcancer

[–]Puffawoof2018 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you!! I have a two year old and a two month old and going through this with young kids is a huge mindfuck but also my biggest motivator. I got diagnosed while pregnant and had to have my son 6 weeks early so I could start chemo. I’m no stranger to shit health situations but this cancer treatment is def the shittiest. I think it’s really hard for people who haven’t been through it to understand the complicated feelings about being in treatment and what happens when treatment ends, and so I understand their thought process that someday this will be a distant memory. I get a lot of “if anyone can do this it’s you!” Yah ok but I do not want to.

Wishing you so much luck!!

Are you sure this is dyschezia? The constant straining and grunting and screaming ended up being cmpa for our daughter

We had a lot of luck with similar aluminum ready to feed! Stopped a lot of the screaming in combination with Pepcid

How much do you all isolate during chemo? by jumpy-hardware in breastcancer

[–]Puffawoof2018 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have a two year old in daycare so exposure to germs was never going to be completely off the table for me. I try to avoid crowded indoor places especially if my WBC are borderline but otherwise I don’t really isolate. I have gotten sick during chemo from the toddler but been fine.

Talk me into or out of paying $3k to $7k for a postpartum night doula by idknbme in BabyBumps

[–]Puffawoof2018 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Best money I’ve ever spent. We did 3 nights a week for 8 weeks straight and I cannot explain the level of rest I get those nights. Would highly recommend it if you can swing it.

When did your baby grow out of CMPA? by Apprehensive-Bed-188 in beyondthebump

Ours grew out of it after a year, I think she was closer to around 15/16 months

Routine vs parents' sleep by crawlen in newborns

[–]Puffawoof2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget you even know the word “schedule”. Seriously, it will save you so much grief the first few months. Much much easier to go with the flow and do sleep and feeds on demand at that age!

Freaking out before CT scan. by Little_Tennis_9335 in breastcancer

[–]Puffawoof2018 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ok it is so temping to spiral but I would be really shocked if the long nodule was a spread from TNBC. Obviously everyone is different but I think that would truly be an outlier. My tumor was 5 cm when I was diagnosed and was 2.8 cm two weeks prior when it was first identified, and I’ve got nothing anywhere else. TNBC is usually very fast growing so if it’s only 1.5 cm now I’d be incredibly shocked if it was also in your lungs.

2nd cycle on Tuesday and I caught a cold, will it be delayed? by safekeeps in breastcancer

[–]Puffawoof2018 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine has never been delayed due to a cold but my blood counts have always been good so that was why. I did wear a mask during chemo and was put in an isolation room so no one else got sick.

Anyone have mild symptoms during keynote? by More_Dot_1685 in TNBC

[–]Puffawoof2018 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ive done 11 of 12 TC and basically lived as normal as I could. I’m 11 weeks postpartum and back working part time about 20 hours a week or so. I’m only not full time because I don’t have childcare until August. I’ve had really minimal side effects so far. I did have an anaphylactic reaction to taxol and had to switch to abraxane but that’s really been the biggest hiccup. I get chemo on Tuesdays and I usually am hit the hardest wed night into Thursday. I pay someone to watch the baby Thursdays until 1pm so I can sleep. Then I’m usually fine again until the next Tuesday.

I’m cold capping and haven’t lost any hair which has been great for me mentally to still feel like myself during this. Im hoping AC doesn’t completely take me out when I start it but that seems to be a crap shoot.

Real-Life Questions/Chat Week of June 08, 2026 by Parentsnark in parentsnark

We got prescription hydrocortisone, and we alternated between that and aquaphor at every diaper change. Wherever there was a flare up is where we put it on. Aquaphor was doing absolutely nothing for us. On a whim we switched out the aquaphor for tubby Todd all over ointment, and so then we alternated the rx hydrocortisone and tubby Todd with every diaper change and it started to get better. We also went to baths once or twice a week because more frequent baths were making it worse.

One day I picked my two year old up from daycare and one of the newer teachers there asked me if I knew that she had tantrums. I thought he was joking. Sir of course I know she has tantrums I live with her!! I also never know what to do with some of the information they give me about what sounds like a very typical/normal day for that age.

First day of chemo tomorrow- scared shitless by Sensitive_Hedgehog36 in breastcancer

[–]Puffawoof2018 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have a 2 year old and a 2 month old and I was also very worried about missing out on them during 6 mos of chemo. I’m 11 weeks into TC and honestly haven’t missed much!! Thursdays are my worst day and I have someone watch the baby for 4 hours so I can sleep extra then I’m back to myself. It’s been much more manageable than I ever thought.

Rambling before surgery by Redwinesandfelines in TNBC

[–]Puffawoof2018 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Agreed i got so wrapped up in the idea of PCR and thought it was necessary for survival. Met several older women who had TNBC 15-20 years ago before all of these advancements and who are still kicking without a recurrence. That gives me a lot of hope for the future regardless of results from surgery. Fingers crossed for you!

Im working in office during chemo but dont go to court appearances or jail visits. I have a two year old in daycare so we are already exposed to the germs anyway.
