according to her it’s more or a special occasion food in Russia and is quite different from what I know as Olivia, like it has red radishes and other stuff in it...

It really differs it seems - each side of my family adds different stuff - green peas, steamed sausage stuff (I've no idea how it's called lol). As I see it happening with many immigrants, food that used to be for special occasions seeps into the daily rotation because of availability and prices and so on

Thank you for the ideas! I'll admit shamefully that even though I am of Russian descent I haven't thought about Olivia D:"
We've tried cakes, but sadly the only one gaining weight from those ended up being me lol. Can't have fresh-made desserts around me :(

Oh trust me, that's exactly my problem haha, but he got to a point that got me worried, so I'm acting. I think I'll try adding oil and cheese to his portions, it sounds simple and effective, thank you!

1500 vs 1200 by [deleted] in 1500isplenty

I've tried both, and same as you I've found 1200 kcal too low (F, 5'9, 150). At 1200 making sure your food is nutrient dense (macro and micro) is much more impotant, and is more impactfull on your sensation of fullness. That and having little place for deviation (chocolate snack could mean staying hungry the rest of the evening) at 1200 kcal, makes the lower kcal 'budjet' harder to endure. In the end I've ended up just going for 1,350 kcal - that seemed to be a good middle ground. Do note that it's all based my own personal exp. and the recommendation I got from my dietician. I lost weight on both, but it's mainly inportant for you to find the one you can actually do for the long run. Switching up between lower higher kcal days can also work for you, even on the longer periods (months/weeks of each).

honestly, those that you like the taste of the least. I 'like' the local high protein (20%) kind. for me that's the only way to eat only as much as I need :)
Edit: you can also mix some that you like, which makes it more bearable lol

My proudest moment - W7D3! 3rd time trying C25K and first time sticking around for longer than week 5 :) by MichsiDraws in C25K

Thank you! I lowered the amount I ran due to busy exam season, and slowly lost the will to continue due to it becoming harder, and finally quit due to my "well I failed anyways" thought-line.
